Usage Features:

  • Load Distribution: Critical for safe towing, with an optimum ball weight between 8% and 12% of the total caravan weight. Heavy items should be loaded low and over the axle, while lightweight items can go in overhead cupboards. Ball loading must not exceed 350kg or the vehicle's maximum allowable load.
  • Electrical System: The Redarc Manager30 BMS automatically manages charging from the vehicle, 240V mains, and solar panels, prioritizing solar. The 2000W inverter allows 240V appliances to run off-grid, but must be switched off when not in use to prevent battery drain. An external solar input is available for additional charging, requiring a regulated panel.
  • Water System: Two 120L fresh water tanks and one 80L grey water tank, each with independent filling and draining. A 12V electric pump supplies water, activated by a control panel switch. The fresh water tanks are not interconnected and should be drawn from one at a time.
  • Hot Water System: Truma Ultra-Rapid system can be operated on gas or 240V mains. Gas operation requires the cylinder to be on, water pump active, external vent cover removed, and burner ignited. 240V operation requires mains connection and the white switch on the control panel.
  • Gas System: Plumbed gas with LCC27 connection for cylinders in the front toolbox. A one-way regulator valve allows switching between cylinders. An external 3-burner stove connects via a bayonet fitting. Proper ventilation is crucial when using gas.
  • Campsite Setup: Stabiliser legs reduce movement but are not for levelling; levelling ramps and the jockey wheel are used for this. The Ark XO750 jockey wheel has outer shaft adjustments. The electric awning requires legs for support during opening, closing, and when fully extended. A full canvas annex is included for additional shelter.
  • Toilet: The Thetford C402-2 toilet has separate flush and waste tanks. Filling the flush tank involves rotating the emptying spout, adding water and additive. Preparing the waste tank involves removing it, turning the emptying spout upwards, adding toilet fluid and water, then re-securing. The valve blade should be closed after use and not left open to prevent flooding.
  • External Kitchen: Slide-out design with a Dometic 3-burner cooktop, sink, and drying rack. Accessed by opening a hatch, releasing bolts, and sliding out. Support legs must be lowered and locked into place. Gas connection is via a bayonet fitting at the rear.
  • Climate Control: Roof-mounted Dometic Harrier Lite air conditioner operates only on 240V mains power. A 2.4 kVa inverter generator is recommended for simultaneous AC operation and battery charging.
  • Entertainment: TV antenna for Free-to-Air TV and a stereo system for CD/DVD/MP3/USB/RADIO playback.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance: A detailed maintenance schedule outlines recommended intervals (3 months/1,000km to 24 months/20,000km) for various components, including battery condition, lights, switches, water pumps, gas hoses, locks, hinges, seals, brakes, chassis, hitch, jockey wheel, stabiliser legs, winches, suspension, wheel alignment, wheel bearings, wheel nuts, tyres, gas struts, shock absorbers, fridge fan filter, and water tanks.
  • Battery Maintenance: The Redarc Manager30 BMS can be put into storage mode to maintain batteries. Regular checks of battery condition are important, especially if relying on solar. An activation cable is provided for batteries discharged below 10V.
  • Hot Water System Maintenance: Requires descaling at least twice a year with commercial cleaning products. Heating the system to 70° regularly prevents micro-organism colonization. The P&T safety valve and drain valve need regular operation to remove lime deposits.
  • Water System Maintenance: Water tanks have taps and bungs for easy draining and rinsing. The hot water system must be drained if there is a risk of frost to prevent damage.
  • Brake Maintenance: Electric trailer brakes have a run-in period and should be inspected and adjusted by a qualified professional according to the maintenance schedule. The handbrake cable tension needs to be adjusted so it is 1/3 raised when unloaded.
  • Fuse Box: Located under the seat, with fuses listed on the lid. A red light indicates a blown fuse. Keeping a mix pack of spare fuses is recommended.
  • Condensation/Mould Prevention: Ensure sufficient airflow in the hybrid, wipe up condensation daily, and use moisture-absorbing tubs, especially during storage.
  • Toilet Maintenance: Regular cleaning and maintenance instructions are provided in the manual. For storage, the water tank should be completely emptied via the drain tube, the valve blade opened, and the waste tank emptied and cleaned.
