Why Avaya IP Phone could not encrypt connection?
    • Z
      Zachary ThomasSep 3, 2025
If your Avaya IP Phone is unable to encrypt the connection, it's because the "Encryption Required" parameter is enabled in the handset while using unencrypted or unsupported base stations. To fix this, you can: 1) Disable the "Encryption Required" parameter in the handset; and/or 2) Enable encryption in the base station(s); and/or 3) Use supported base stations. Consult your supplier for assistance.

Why does my Avaya IP Phone say 'Not allowed'?
    • M
      Michael PeckSep 1, 2025
If your Avaya IP Phone displays 'Not allowed', it could be due to several reasons: 1) Another handset is using the same extension (User) with shared phone functionality enabled. Logout from the handset that uses the same extension to resolve this. 2) An incorrect password (AC code) was entered when trying to logout from the handset with shared phone functionality enabled. Enter #11*# on the keypad and press the off-hook key to logout. 3) The extension (User) does not exist. Ensure you've entered the correct extension, and contact the system administrator if needed. 4) The password is not correct. Make sure you've entered the correct password, and ask the system administrator if you've forgotten it.
