1-3
15. Always ship unit on air-ride semi-trailers to reduce harmful/destructive over the road
vibration and shock.
16. Never operate the Load Bank during heavy rains or high humidity. Always operate heaters
before operating the Load Bank.
17. Read and heed all WARNING and CAUTION statements in the instruction manual.
This unit is designed specifically for low temperature operation. When the unit is in storage and
prior to operation, an external source of power (460 VAC, 3 phase, 60 Hz, 150 amps) must be
connected to TB2 (1), (2), (3), and GND. This will energize the enclosure heaters.
To prevent icing and condensation problems, switch S13 must be turned ON to energize the medium
voltage enclosure heater and switch S12 must be turned ON to energize the motor heaters.
In addition, heaters must be energized before operation in temperatures below 20°F (-6°C). The
main vacuum contactors require ambient temperatures above 20°F (-6°C) before operation. Refer to
schematic/interconnection diagram D41648.
