Medical equipment
Any form of radio transmission, and this includes mobile telephones, can infl uence the function of medical
equipment, in particular when these are not screened well enough. Switch the telephone off therefore in the
vicinity of medical equipment – especially when requested to do so by appropriate signs.
Pacemakers
The manufacturers of pacemakers recommend a minimum distance of 16 cm/7 inches between a mobile
telephone and the pacemaker to avoid malfunctions by interferences. This recommendation is also supported
by independent scientifi c research.
