UseNATtraversalwhentheAxisproductislocatedonanintranet(LAN)andyouwishtomakeitavailablefromtheother
(WAN)sideofaNATrouter.WithNATtraversalproperlycongured,allHTTPtrafctoanexternalHTTPportintheNATrouter
isforwardedtotheproduct.

FTP
TheFTPserverrunningintheAxisproductenablesuploadofnewrmware,userapplications,etc.TheFTPservercanbedisabled
underSystemOptions>Network>TCP/IP>Advanced.

ThisFTPserverhasnothingtodowiththeproduct’sabilitytotransferimagesviaFTPtootherlocationsandservers.
RTSP
TheRTSPserverrunningintheAxisproductallowsaconnectingclienttostartanH.264stream.TheRTSPportnumbercanbe
changedunderSystemOptions>Network>TCP/IP>Advanced.Thedefaultportis554.

H.264videostreamswillnotbeavailableiftheRTSPserverisdisabled.
SOCKS
SOCKSisanetworkingproxyprotocol.TheAxisproductcanbeconguredtouseaSOCKSservertoreachnetworksontheother
sideofarewallorproxyserver.ThisfunctionalityisusefuliftheAxisproductislocatedonalocalnetworkbehindarewall,and
notications,uploads,alarms,etcneedtobesenttoadestinationoutsidethelocalnetwork(forexampletheInternet).
