AXISPeopleCounterisananalyticapplicationthatyoucaninstallonanetworkcamera.Youcanusetheapplicationtocounthow
manypeoplepassthroughanentrance,inwhatdirectiontheypass,andifmorethanonepersonpassesduringapredenedinterval.
Youcanalsouseittoestimatehowmanypeoplearecurrentlyoccupyinganarea,andtheaveragevisitingtime.
Theapplicationrunsembeddedinthecamerawhichmeansyoudon’tneedadedicatedcomputertoruntheapplication.

Howdoesestimatingoccupancywork?
Youcanusetheapplicationtoestimateoccupancyinareaswithoneorseveralentrancesandexits.Eachentranceandexitneedstobe
equippedwithanetworkcamerawithAXISPeopleCounterinstalled.Ifthereareseveralcameras,theycommunicatewitheachother
overthenetworkinaprimaryandsecondaryconcept.Theprimarycameracontinuouslyfetchesdatafromthesecondarycamerasand
presentsthedataintheliveview.Everyfteenminutes,theprimarycamerasendsthestatisticaldatatoAXISStoreDataManager.
Consequently,thereportsgeneratedfromAXISStoreDataManagercanpresentthedatainaminimumof15minutestimeinterval.
