Overview

The Axkid MOVEKID is a rear-facing car seat designed for children with a height between 61-125 cm and weighing up to 36 kg. It is approved according to UN Regulation No. 129 and is suitable for use from approximately six months of age, or when a child can sit up unsupported.

Function Description:

The Axkid MOVEKID is an integral specific vehicle belted enhanced child restraint system. Its primary function is to provide a safe and comfortable rear-facing travel solution for children in compatible vehicle seating positions. The car seat is designed to grow with the child, offering adjustable features to ensure a correct and secure fit as the child develops.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Height Range: 61-125 cm
  • Weight Limit: ≤36 kg
  • Approval: UN Regulation No. 129
  • Installation: Rear-facing only, using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt and lower tethers.
  • Airbag Compatibility: Not to be used in seating positions with active frontal airbags unless the airbag is deactivated according to vehicle manufacturer instructions.
  • Lower Tether Anchorages (LTA): The car seat includes two lower tethers that comply with ISO13216-4:2020, enhancing stability and protection in various collision types, including roll-over and rear-end impacts. Additional lower tethers and anchorages can be purchased separately for multi-car use.
  • ASIP Pad: An Axkid Side Impact Protection (ASIP) pad is included and should be attached to the side of the car seat closest to the vehicle door for enhanced side-impact protection.
  • Support Leg: An adjustable support leg ensures firm contact with the vehicle floor, angled approximately 10° towards the front of the vehicle, to maximize safety in an accident.
  • Recline Angle Adjuster: Allows for adjustment of the car seat's recline position for comfort and safety, with a more upright position recommended as the child grows.
  • Headrest: Adjustable headrest (A) to ensure the shoulder straps (S) are positioned correctly, either directly from the child's shoulders or a maximum of 1 cm above.
  • Harness System: Features an integral harness (B) with a buckle release button (C), harness release button (E), and harness tension strap (F) for securing the child. The harness must be firmly tightened and free from twists.

Usage Features:

  • Installation Process:
    1. Unzip the zipper and open the belt clamp lid (P).
    2. Place the car seat on the vehicle seat, facing the rear. Adjust legroom by sliding the seat. Ensure the heel (I) does not hang over the seat edge.
    3. Adjust the recline angle using the adjuster (T).
    4. Open the belt clamp (O), thread the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the seat belt slots (D) and the belt clamp (O). Connect the seat belt buckle and pull the shoulder part of the belt tightly while pressing down on the car seat for a firm installation. Close the belt clamp (O) and lid (P).
    5. Attach the metal clips (L) to the metal clip connectors (K) on each side, or to vehicle anchorages if applicable. Tension the lower tethers (N) while pressing down on the car seat to set the final recline angle.
    6. Extend the support leg (Q) until it firmly contacts the vehicle floor and clicks into place. Ensure it's angled about 10° forward.
    7. Install the ASIP pad (H) into the ASIP connector (M) on the side closest to the vehicle door.
  • Child Restraint:
    1. Adjust the headrest (A) to an approximate position for the child.
    2. Loosen the harness by pressing the harness release button (E) and pulling both shoulder straps (S) simultaneously.
    3. Unlock the harness buckle by pressing the buckle release button (C).
    4. Place the child in the seat, positioning shoulder straps (S) over their shoulders. Adjust the headrest (A) so shoulder straps are max 1 cm above the child's shoulders.
    5. Fasten the harness buckle by joining the buckle parts and pushing them into the buckle until a click is heard.
    6. Tighten the harness over the child's hips by pulling the shoulder straps (S) and then the harness tension strap (F) until no more than one finger can fit between the shoulder straps and the child's shoulders.
  • Removal from Vehicle:
    1. Unzip the zipper and open the belt clamp lid (P). Unlock the vehicle seat belt. Open the belt clamp (O) and remove the seat belt from the car seat.
    2. Unlock the lower tethers (N) by holding connectors and pressing the grey button.
    3. Collapse the support leg (Q) to its shortest position by pressing button (R).
    4. Fold the recline angle adjuster (T) to its folded position.
    5. Lift the car seat out of the vehicle. (Tip: Lock and tension the harness before removal to use shoulder straps as a carrying handle).

Maintenance Features:

  • Textile Cover: Machine washable at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry. Videos for removal and attachment are available on www.axkid.com. Only original Axkid textile covers should be used for replacement.
  • Plastic Parts: Clean with mild detergent and water. Avoid aggressive chemicals or solvents.
  • Warranty: 24-month manufacturer's warranty from the date of purchase. Keep the receipt for warranty claims. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage from incorrect use, neglect, accidents, third-party repairs, or UV-induced fading of the seat cover.
  • Recycling: Axkid strongly recommends recycling old car seats. Before disposal, cut harness straps, remove textile cover and as many Styrofoam parts as possible, and separate metal and plastic parts. Mark the main part of the seat as unsafe or expired to deter reuse. Consult local municipal guidelines for recycling instructions.
