Product description
An electric bike is a conventional bike which features power-assisted pedalling.
How do electric bikes work?
An electric bike is a conventional bike which is motorised to provide power-assisted
pedalling. The power assistance only functions if the rider is pedalling. The level of
assistance depends on the rider’s needs: it is greater when setting off and varies
according to three modes: ECO, NORMAL and SPORT.
Choose your mode according to your requirements and level of skill (sport mode cannot
be used without a high level of bike riding skill).
Electric bikes are covered by European Directive 92/61/CEE, which is why the power
assistance is required to cut out at a speed of 25 km/h (15,5 mile/h).
Also, the power assistance only cuts in if the rider is pedalling and cuts out as soon as
the rider stops pedalling or when the speed reaches 25 km/h (15,5 mile/h).
