What to do if Baker Hughes Consolidated 1811 Control Unit valve is leaking?

If your Baker Hughes Control Unit valve is leaking or exhibiting erratic popping actions, it could be due to several reasons. The seat might be damaged, requiring disassembly, lapping of seating surfaces, or disc replacement. Part misalignment could also be the cause; in this case, disassemble the valve and inspect the contact area of the disc and seat bushing, lower spring washer or spindle, compression screw, and spindle straightness. Operating too close to set pressure can also cause this issue, so lower the operating pressure or retrofit to a Thermodisc design. Finally, check if the discharge stack is binding on the valve outlet and correct the source of binding if necessary.
