Problem
Check / Troubleshooting
You hear a hissing noise when
water is poured into the boiler
tray.
When the boiler tray is heated (for example, when toasting consecutively), pouring
water into the tray makes a hissing sound as water evaporates in the tray.
However, it has no inuence on the result of toasting.
During cooking, you hear a
“popping” sound from the main
unit.
This is not a malfunction. The sound is heard when the metal expands with heat.
Keep using the product without any changes.
The door cannot be closed.
Check whether the toasting rack, boiler cover, and crumb catcher are installed
correctly.
Refer to “Using the product for the rst time” (P.9) to install these parts
correctly.
Check whether the water supply cover or other objects are caught between the
main unit and the door.
Remove any object caught.
Water leaks under the main unit
or into the crumb catcher.
Check whether the main unit is placed with a tilt.
Place the main unit in a horizontal and stable location.
Check whether too much water is supplied.
Refer to the procedure in “Cooking”
(P.17) to cook with a correct amount of
water.
Check whether water is supplied in the Classic mode.
In the Classic mode, cook without supplying water.
After the main unit is cooled down suciently, wipe o the water with a dry cloth.
Food item does not have
browning.
Check whether the mode is selected incorrectly. Check whether the timer is stopped
in the middle of cooking.
In the Toast mode and the Cheese toast mode, browning is performed toward
the end of the timer. Therefore, stopping the operation in the middle may prevent
browning.
The degree of browning may vary depending on the outlet voltage, ambient
temperature and humidity, and the state of the bread.
You can brown the bread further by reheating the bread at 250°C (Classic mode)
until a desired browning is achieved.
Adjust the cooking time to achieve the desired degree of browning next time.
Check whether the positions of food are shifted away from the heater tubes.
Refer to the procedure in “Cooking”
(P.16) to place food on the middle of
the toasting rack.
Check whether the inside of the toaster is stained.
When the inside of the toaster is stained, it may be dicult to brown the food.
Refer to “Maintenance procedure for the main unit and the inside” (P.23) in
“Periodic maintenance” to clean the inside of the toaster.
