Why is the temperature readout on my Barnstead International Furnace inaccurate?
- JJamie CobbAug 9, 2025
If your Barnstead International Furnace displays inaccurate temperature readings, several factors could be responsible. An oxidized or contaminated thermocouple, a poor thermocouple connection, or reversed thermocouple connections can cause this. Ensure proper loading procedures and adequate ventilation around the furnace base. Static charge on the pyrometer case or control calibration issues may also lead to inaccurate readings. Replace the thermocouple, tighten connections, use correct loading procedures, clear the area around the furnace base, and reconnect the thermocouple correctly. If the issue persists, consider re-tuning the control or verifying and correcting all parameter and configuration values. If 'malfunction' continues, replace the control.
