Overview

This document is an owner's manual and safety instructions for a Barton Twin Tub Washer with Drain Pump, Item: 99806.

Function Description

The Barton Twin Tub Washer is designed for household use, offering both washing and spinning capabilities. It features a twin tub design, separating the washing and spinning functions into two distinct compartments. The integrated drain pump facilitates faster water drainage. This appliance is intended for indoor use only and is not suitable for commercial applications.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Power: 300 Watts
  • Water Temperature Limit: Should not exceed 131° F (55° C)
  • Power Cord: Equipped with a 3-prong grounding plug for shock hazard protection.
  • Voltage Requirements: Must be plugged into a properly installed and grounded outlet that meets the voltage requirements listed on the ratings label.
  • Drain Pump: Included for efficient water drainage.

Usage Features

The washer's control panel includes several selectors and timers for customized operation:

  • Wash Timer: Allows users to set the desired wash duration.
  • Wash Selector: Offers different washing types, typically "Soft" and "Normal" (or "Stronger"), to accommodate various laundry needs.
  • Function Selector: Likely controls the overall operation mode, including wash and drain functions.
  • Spin Timer: Sets the duration for the spin cycle.
  • Water Inlet Selection: Features separate inlets for wash water and spin water, allowing users to direct water to the appropriate tub.
  • Water Level Marking: Guides users in selecting the appropriate water level based on the quantity of laundry.

Washing Procedure:

  1. Drain Hose Setup: Ensure the drain hose is set for drainage.
  2. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded outlet, verifying voltage compatibility.
  3. Water Inlet Connection: Insert the water inlet hose into the designated water inlet connector.
  4. Water Level Selection: Choose the water level according to the laundry quantity.
  5. Detergent Addition: Add water and dissolved detergent to the wash tub. Operate the machine briefly (by turning the WASH KNOB) to stir the detergent evenly.
  6. Laundry Loading: Place laundry into the wash tub and select the desired wash duration and washing type (Normal/Stronger).
  7. Drainage: After washing, set the washing selector to DRAIN. The drain pump will facilitate quick water removal. Remember to return the Drain Selector to the NORMAL position once the water is completely drained.

Intermediate Spin (Removing Detergent/Dry):

  1. Transfer Laundry: Move laundry from the WASH tub to the SPIN tub.
  2. Arrange Laundry: Distribute laundry uniformly in the spin tub to prevent imbalance. Press the laundry down firmly and place the safety cap on top.
  3. Spin Cycle: Close the outer cover of the spin tub and initiate the spin cycle for one minute. If abnormal vibrations or noise occur, rearrange the laundry.

Soak Rinse:

  1. Load Laundry: Place laundry in the wash tub, select the appropriate wash type and water level.
  2. Rinse Cycle: Set the timer to 0-5 minutes for rinsing.
  3. Dry Spin: Arrange laundry uniformly in the spin tub, press it down, and place the safety cover. Select a spin duration of 1-5 minutes.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the appliance. Always unplug the power supply before performing any maintenance or disposal.

  • General Cleaning: Clean the entire machine with a damp, soft cloth. Avoid spraying water directly onto the machine. For stubborn dirt, use a neutral detergent; do not use petroleum-based detergents.
  • Overflow Filter Cleaning:
    1. Dismantling: Pinch the flexible-fastening claw and gently pull the filter away from the machine. This should be done at least once every two months.
    2. Bellows Dismantling: Dismantle the top of the pipe in the overflow filter.
    3. Cleaning: Clean the filter thoroughly under running water.
    4. Installation: Install the bellows, then insert the tie plate of the bottom valve cover. Hook the top left and press the top into the slot.
  • Lint Filter Cleaning:
    1. Dismantling: Hold the filter frame, gently press downward, and pull it off.
    2. Cleaning: Wash the filter with plain water while it is still wet. Dry it, avoiding direct sunlight.
    3. Installation: Insert the bottom part of the filter frame into the slot and gently push it into place.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as water not flowing in, the washing machine failing to run, abnormal drainage, and abnormal spin. Users are advised not to attempt repairs themselves and to consult a technician for help.
