Overview

The device described in the manual is the glo™ tobacco heater, a product designed for heating tobacco. It comes with several accessories in a starter kit, including a USB-C Cable, an AC Adaptor, and a Cleaning Brush. The device is intended for adult use only and emphasizes safety precautions throughout the manual.

Function Description

The glo™ tobacco heater is designed to heat neo™ tobacco sticks, providing a smoking experience without combustion. It offers two heating modes: 'Standard' and 'Boost'. The 'Standard' mode provides a normal smoking session lasting approximately 4 minutes, while the 'Boost' mode offers a shorter but more intense experience. The device is activated by pressing and holding a control button, with different hold durations for each mode. Lights on the control button indicate the heating status and readiness for use.

Important Technical Specifications

The device contains a lithium-ion battery, which takes 1-2 hours to fully charge and provides more than 20 sessions on a full charge. The glo™ USB AC adaptor is specifically designed for this device and should be used for charging. The charging rate is optimal between 10°C and 45°C, and it charges at half the normal rate between 0°C and 10°C. Charging is not recommended below 0°C or above 45°C.

Operating Temperatures:

  • Discharge: -20 to 45°C
  • Full Charge: 10 to 45°C
  • Limited Charge: 0 to 10°C (1/2 full charge rate)

The manual advises keeping the device between 15°C and 25°C for optimum performance, as extreme temperatures can reduce battery capacity and lifetime. Exposure to temperatures higher than 50°C (122°F) can permanently damage the device or battery.

Usage Features

  1. Charging: The device is charged by inserting the USB-C cable into the USB charging port and connecting it to a computer's USB port or the provided AC adaptor. The control button lights indicate the charging status, from 25% to 100% charged. The device can be used while plugged in if it has enough charge, but charging will pause during a session.
  2. Inserting a neo™ stick: To use, the user slides open the shutter on top of the device and gently inserts a neo™ stick until it touches the bottom of the heater. Only neo™ sticks are compatible; normal super slim cigarettes will not work.
  3. Turning On (Heating Modes):
    • Standard Mode: Hold the control button for 3 seconds. The device vibrates gently, and the first light flashes, then all lights illuminate as it heats up. Ready in 20 seconds.
    • Boost Mode: Hold the control button for 5 seconds. The device vibrates gently after 3 seconds and again at 5 seconds. The lights rotate, then all 4 lights illuminate. Ready in 10 seconds.
  4. Enjoying a Session: Users place the neo™ stick to their lips and inhale gently. Three of the four lights turn off 20 seconds before the session ends, accompanied by a gentle vibrate, indicating the session is approaching its end. The device turns off automatically. A session can be stopped at any point by holding the control button for 3 seconds. Sessions cannot be paused, and used neo™ sticks must be removed and replaced for a new session.
  5. Checking Charge Status: Press and release the control button to check the battery status. This cannot be done during a session.
  6. Removing and Disposing of neo™ sticks: After use, the neo™ stick is removed by pulling it out by the filter. Caution is advised as the tobacco portion may be hot. Used sticks should be discarded responsibly in a waste bin or ashtray, and the shutter should be closed after each session.

Maintenance Features

  1. Cleaning the Device: The glo™ tobacco heater should be allowed to cool for at least 5 minutes before cleaning. The slider door at the top and the cleaning door at the bottom are opened, and the provided cleaning brush is used to clean the inside of the heating chamber from both ends. For optimal performance, cleaning is recommended after every 20 sessions.
  2. Cleaning the Cleaning Brush: The cleaning brush should be rinsed under running water and thoroughly dried before being used again with the glo™ tobacco heater.
  3. Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting section with error codes (indicated by light patterns), symptoms (e.g., not charging, not heating), possible causes (e.g., temperature too high/low, battery drained, faulty adaptor), and suggested actions. For persistent issues, users are advised to contact the glo™ Care Center.
