This document is an owner's manual and safety instructions for the Bauer 20V HYPERMAX™ LITHIUM FAST CHARGER, model 1906C-B. It provides essential information for safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the charger.

Function Description:

The Bauer 20V HYPERMAX™ LITHIUM FAST CHARGER is designed to charge Bauer 20V Lithium-ion battery packs. Its primary function is to convert standard AC power into DC power suitable for recharging these specific battery packs. The charger features indicator LEDs (Red and Green) to communicate charging status and potential issues. It is intended for indoor use only and emphasizes safe charging practices to prevent electric shock, fire, and injury. The manual explicitly states that the charger should only be used with specifically designated battery packs to avoid risks such as overheating, leaking, or bursting.

  • Charging Process:
    • Place the battery pack on a dry, fireproof surface in a room with a temperature between 50–104° F.
    • Allow newly spent battery packs to cool completely before charging.
    • Examine the battery pack for damage; do not charge cracked, open, leaking, or non-recommended battery types.
    • Ensure the battery pack fits properly into the charger without forcing it.
    • Plug the charger directly into a grounded 120VAC, 60Hz receptacle.
    • Slide the battery pack onto the charger.
    • The Green LED will light continuously and the Red LED will blink during charging.
    • Both Green and Red LEDs will light continuously when the battery is fully charged.
    • Unplug the charger and disconnect the battery pack once charging is complete.
    • Allow the battery pack to cool completely before use.
    • Press the Battery Button to release the battery pack from the charger.
  • LED Indicators:
    • Red LED blinks: Indicates the battery pack and/or charger are not within the correct charging temperature range, or there is a problem with the battery pack or charger.
    • Green and Red LEDs both blink: Indicates potential damage to the battery pack or charger, requiring inspection by a qualified technician.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not place the charger on flammable surfaces, especially carpets or rugs, as they can obstruct vents and are flammable.
    • Ensure adequate ventilation for the charger.
    • Keep the charging area clean, well-lit, and free of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
    • Do not expose the charger to rain or wet conditions; charge indoors only.
    • Avoid contact with liquid ejected from a battery pack under abusive conditions.
    • Do not use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the charger.
    • Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts.
    • Do not modify the power cord plug.
    • Extension cords are not recommended for use with this charger.
    • People with pacemakers should consult their physician due to potential electromagnetic interference.

Maintenance Features:
