Materials that you CAN’T use in your Microwave:

May cause arcing. Transfer food into microwave-

Food carton with
metal handles
May cause arcing. Transfer food into microwave-
safe dish.
Metal / metal-
trimmed utensils
Metal shields the food from microwave energy.
Metal trim may also cause arcing.
Metal twist ties
May cause arcing & could cause a fire in the oven.
Paper bags
May cause a fire in the oven. Always be careful
with paper.
Plastic foam
Plastic foam may melt or contaminate the liquid
inside when exposed to high temperatures.
Wood
Wood will dry out and may split or crack when
used in your Microwave.
