The Traffic Assist Overview

Use

The Traffic Assist is a PND for vehicles and closed spaces, protected from dampness and dirt.

Navigation

Thanks to GPS, no need for road atlases; uses integrated antenna for continuous access.

The Traffic Assist unit includes the basic unit and accessories included in the delivery.

Contains integrated antenna, touchscreen, loudspeaker, and microphone.

Power and Storage

SD memory card

Storage medium for maps, music, and images; map data is preinstalled.

Memory Card Operations

Inserting the memory card

Remove card from packaging, insert contact bar facing rear, push until it snaps.

Ejecting the memory card

The card slot ejects the card; press gently to release and remove.

Connecting to Power

Power supply

Unit operates via integrated rechargeable battery or external power supply.

Connecting up to power supply

Connects to mains grid using optionally available grid power supply unit.

Basic Operation and Controls

Switching the Traffic Assist On/Off

The unit is switched on and off using the key.

Switching On

Used to determine a new destination if not in memory or for quick selection.

Address

Select destination by entering address details like town, street, and number.

Route Planning and Management

Create and select individual routes by entering destination points consecutively.

The New key

Allows creation of a new route by adding destination points.

The Edit key

Enables modification of existing routes or route points.

Telephone Mode and Bluetooth

Telephone mode*

Connect Traffic Assist to a Bluetooth mobile phone for hands-free operation.

Calling up telephone mode

Access telephone mode from main menu or map toolbar.

Media Playback

The MP3 player

Play MP3 files saved on a memory card with controls for play, pause, and skip.

The Picture Viewer

Call up and display images stored on the memory card.
