Function Description
The Beko Refrigerator is designed for household use, intended for storing and cooling food items. It features a refrigerator compartment and a freezer compartment, with specific temperature controls for each. Some models may include a "HomeWhiz" feature, allowing remote operation via a mobile app. The product is not intended for commercial use or for storing sensitive materials like medicines or blood plasma.
Key operational features include:
- Compartment Conversion Key: Allows switching the freezer section between cooler, off, and freezer modes. When in cooler mode, the temperature is set to 4 °C. In OFF mode, the temperature indicator displays "--".
- Freezing Compartment Temperature Setting Key: Enables setting the freezer temperature from -18°C to -24°C.
- Energy Saving (Display Off) Indicator: Automatically activates when the door is not opened or closed for a period, turning off all display symbols except the energy saving symbol. It deactivates upon opening the door or pressing any key. This is a factory-activated, non-cancellable function.
- Fault Condition Indicator: An exclamation mark (!) illuminates if the refrigerator cannot perform adequate cooling or in case of a sensor error, displaying "E" on the freezer indicator and numbers (1, 2, 3) on the cooler indicator to specify the service required. It also warns if hot food is placed in the freezer or the door is left open for too long.
- Quick Freezing Key: Activates a quick freeze function, setting the freezer temperature to -27°C. It automatically cancels after 24 hours. Recommended for freezing large amounts of fresh food.
- Wireless Key: Used to connect the appliance wirelessly to the HomeWhiz mobile application. Pressing for 3 seconds initiates the link, indicated by a blinking LED. Once connected, the LED lights solid. This button can also reset wireless connection settings by pressing it simultaneously with the Quick Freezing key for 3 seconds.
- Cooling Compartment OFF (Vacation) Function Key: Activates vacation mode, displaying "--" on the cooling compartment temperature indicator and stopping active cooling in that compartment. Other compartments continue to cool normally. Not suitable for storing food in the cooling compartment when active.
- Cooling Compartment Temperature Setting Key: Allows setting the cooler compartment temperature from 8°C down to 1°C.
- Anti-Odour Module Key (FreshGuard): Activates/deactivates the anti-odour feature, which uses a fan, LED, and odour filter to eliminate bad smells in the fresh food compartment. The module operates periodically and pauses when the door is open. The filter should be replaced by an authorized service provider every 5 years.
- Open Door Warning: An audible alarm sounds if the fridge or freezer door is left open for a certain period, muting when a button is pressed or the door is closed.
- The Dairy (Cold Storage) Bin: Provides a lower temperature for storing delicatessen, meat, chicken, or fish products for immediate consumption. Not suitable for fruits and vegetables.
- Blue Light/HarvestFresh (optional): Crispers illuminated with blue light help fruits and vegetables continue photosynthesis, preserving vitamin content. HarvestFresh technology uses blue, green, red lights, and dark cycles to simulate a day cycle, extending vitamin preservation.
- Moisture Controlled Vegetable Bin (optional): Maintains optimal moisture levels for vegetables and fruits, extending freshness. Recommends storing leafed vegetables horizontally and heavy vegetables at the bottom. Advises against storing vegetables in plastic bags and separating high ethylene gas-producing fruits from other produce.
