Overview

This document is a user manual for a Beko Frost Free Combi Built-In Fridge / Freezer, model BCFD4V73. It provides instructions for safe operation, installation, usage, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description

The Beko BCFD4V73 is a combined refrigerator and freezer unit designed for storing and freezing edible foodstuff. It features a frost-free system, eliminating the need for manual defrosting in both compartments. The appliance is built-in, meaning it's designed to be integrated into kitchen cabinetry. A key feature is its "Freezer Guard technology," which allows the freezer compartment to operate effectively even in ambient temperatures as low as -15°C, preventing frozen food from thawing. However, in such low ambient conditions, the fridge compartment contents are likely to freeze. The appliance includes a control panel for temperature adjustment and various functions.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model Identifier: BCFD4V73
  • Refrigerant: R600a (environmentally friendly, flammable under certain conditions)
  • Insulation: Cyclopentane
  • Ambient Temperature Range: Designed to operate in ambient temperatures up to 38°C (100°F). Freezer Guard technology ensures operation down to -15°C.
  • Electrical Requirements: Operates on mains supply. The voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate must match the electricity supply. It requires a 13A fuse (ASTABEAB approved BS 1362).
  • Installation Space: The room where the appliance is installed must not be smaller than 10 cubic metres.
  • Side Clearances (if installed near heat sources):
    • From Cookers: 50 mm (2")
    • From Radiators: 300 mm (12")
    • From Freezers: 25 mm (1")
  • Power Failure Storage Time: Frozen food should not be affected if a power failure lasts for less than 13 hours.

    • High Temperature Error / Warning Indicator: Illuminates during high temperature failures and error warnings.
    • Quick Fridge Function: Activates a rapid cooling mode for the fridge compartment, useful for quickly cooling large amounts of fresh food. It automatically cancels after 8 hours or when the desired temperature is reached. This function is not recalled after a power failure.
    • Alarm Off: Silences the door open alarm (activated after 2 minutes) or sensor failure alarm.
  • Internal Layout: Includes cabinet shelves, door shelves, a wine rack, an egg tray, a salad crisper, and frozen food storage drawers. The freezer also has a fast freeze compartment.

  • Food Storage Guidelines:
    • Fridge compartment for short-term storage of fresh food and drinks.
    • Freezer compartment is **** rated for freezing and storage of pre-frozen food.

    • Fizzy drinks and flavoured water ices should not be frozen.
    • Some fruits and vegetables (pineapples, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes) should be wrapped in polythene bags if kept near 0°C.
    • Maximum frozen food storage volume is achieved without using the upper shelf cover in the freezer.
  • Making Ice Cubes: Fill ice cube trays 3/4 full with water. Use a spoon handle to loosen frozen trays; avoid sharp objects.

Maintenance Features
