The Beko Frost Free Combi Built-In Fridge/Freezer is designed for storing and freezing edible foodstuff. It features a dual cooling system, which means it has two separate cooling systems for the fresh food compartment and the freezer compartment. This design prevents air from mixing between the two compartments, leading to faster cooling, no odor transfer, and individual defrosting for additional power saving. The appliance is equipped with Freezer Guard technology, allowing it to operate in ambient temperatures as low as -15°C without frozen food in the freezer thawing. However, in such low ambient conditions, fridge contents may freeze, so users are advised to check and consume fridge food accordingly. The fridge compartment performs full-automatic defrosting, with defrost water draining into a collection container at the back of the appliance. The freezer compartment uses a NO FROST type defrost, which is completely automatic, with water collected and evaporated from a compressor tray. The appliance includes a HarvestFresh feature in the crispers, which uses blue, green, and red lights, along with dark cycles, to simulate a day cycle and preserve the vitamin content (A and C) of fruits and vegetables for a longer time. If the refrigerator door is opened during the dark period of HarvestFresh, the lights will automatically illuminate the crisper for convenience.
The appliance features a control panel with several buttons for temperature control and special functions. The "On / Off Indicator" button allows users to turn the fridge on or off by pressing it for 3 seconds. The "Quick fridge function button" activates or deactivates the Quick Cool function, which rapidly cools the fridge compartment, useful for cooling large amounts of fresh food. This function automatically cancels after 1 hour or when the desired temperature is reached. The "Fridge compartment temperature setting button" allows users to set the fridge temperature from 8°C down to 2°C. Similarly, the "Freezer compartment temperature setting button" enables setting the freezer temperature from -18°C down to -24°C. The "Quick freeze function button" activates rapid freezing in the freezer compartment, cooling it to a temperature lower than the set value, and automatically cancels after 25 hours or when the target temperature is reached. An "Alarm off warning" button is available to clear high temperature or power failure alarms after checking the freezer contents. The "Eco fuzzy" function, activated by pressing its button for 3 seconds, optimizes the refrigerator's operation for economic mode, with an indicator lighting up after 6 hours if the doors remain closed and the freezer is set to -18°C. The "Vacation Function" can be activated for 3 seconds, displaying "--" on the fridge temperature indicator, which stops active cooling in the fridge compartment while other compartments continue to cool. This function is not suitable for storing food in the fridge compartment.
The user manual provides guidelines for arranging food to ensure optimal storage and hygiene. The fridge compartment is for short-term storage of fresh food and drinks, while the freezer compartment is suitable for freezing and storing pre-frozen food, with a **** rating. Cooked dishes should be stored in airtight containers, and fresh produce should be wrapped and stored in crisper bins. Raw meat should be wrapped in polythene bags and placed on the lowest shelf, kept separate from cooked food, and stored for no more than two to three days. Hot food and beverages must be cooled before being placed in the fridge. Explosive substances and high-proof alcohol should not be stored. Fizzy drinks should not be frozen. Certain fruits and vegetables, like pineapples, melons, cucumbers, and tomatoes, should be wrapped in polythene bags if stored near 0°C. For freezing fresh food, it is recommended not to freeze too large a quantity at once to preserve quality, and to avoid mixing already frozen food with fresh food. Ice cubes can be made by filling trays with water, and frozen trays should be loosened with a spoon, not sharp objects.
Regular cleaning and care are essential for the appliance. Before cleaning, the appliance should be switched off and unplugged. Harsh abrasive instruments, soap, household cleaners, detergents, and wax polish should not be used. The cabinet should be cleaned with lukewarm water and wiped dry. The interior can be cleaned with a damp cloth wrung out in a solution of one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to one pint of water. Care must be taken to prevent water from entering the lamp housing. If the appliance is not going to be used for a long time, it should be unplugged, emptied of food, cleaned, and the door left open. Door seals should be regularly checked for cleanliness and freedom from food particles. Door racks can be removed by pushing them upwards from the base after removing their contents. Freezer drawers can be removed by pulling them out as far as possible, tilting them upwards, and then pulling them out completely. If the condenser or plastic evaporator tray requires cleaning, service should be contacted, as these parts are not accessible without uninstalling the product. The interior light bulb (Bulb/LED) should be replaced by an authorized service technician. The lamps used in the appliance are specifically designed for refrigerator/freezer illumination and can withstand extreme physical conditions.
The manual also includes instructions for reversing the doors, which involves unscrewing hinges, carefully removing doors, and refitting hinges and plastic plugs on the opposite side.
