Overview

This document describes a refrigerator, providing comprehensive information on its functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The refrigerator is designed for household use, intended for storing food items in both its cooler and freezer compartments. It features a control panel for managing settings, adjustable shelves, a cold storage drawer, crisper, door shelves, and an egg holder. Some models may include a fan and a bottle shelf. The appliance is equipped with a door open alert system that sounds an audio warning if the door remains open for a certain period (60-120 seconds), with a visual warning (light flash) activating after 4 minutes if the door is still not closed.

The refrigerator offers a "Vacation Function" that, when activated, sets the cooler compartment to a non-cooling state, while other compartments continue to cool according to their set temperatures. This function is useful for energy saving when the cooler compartment is not in use for extended periods. A "Quick Freezing" function is available to rapidly freeze large quantities of fresh food, setting the freezer temperature to -27°C. An "Error Status Indicator" displays "E" on the freezer temperature indicator and numerical codes (1, 2, 3...) on the cooler temperature indicator in case of a sensor error or cooling malfunction, providing diagnostic information for authorized service.

The appliance supports wireless connectivity via the HomeWhiz mobile application, allowing remote control and monitoring. The wireless connection symbol on the display/indicator blinks slowly during connection attempts and remains solid once connected.

Important Technical Specifications

The cooling system of the product uses R600a gas, which is flammable, as specified on the type label. C-Pentane is used as a blowing agent in the insulation foam, also a flammable substance. The product is designed for use at a maximum altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. It operates on a grounded electrical outlet with a 10A-16A fuse, corresponding to the voltage, current, and frequency values specified on the type label. The product is not suitable for commercial use.

The freezer compartment is designed to freeze 4.5 kg of food items at -18°C or lower temperatures within 24 hours at 25°C room temperature, for every 100 liters of freezer compartment volume, as per IEC 62552 standards. Food products can be preserved for extended periods at or below -18°C.

The climate class of the appliance is indicated on the type label:

  • SN (Long Term Temperate Climate): Designed for ambient temperatures between 10°C and 32°C.
  • N (Temperate Climate): Designed for ambient temperatures between 16°C and 32°C.
  • ST (Subtropical Climate): Designed for ambient temperatures between 16°C and 38°C.
  • T (Tropical Climate): Designed for ambient temperatures between 16°C and 43°C.

Usage Features

Food Storage:

  • Cooler Compartment: Store cooked foods, dairy products, eggs, fruits, vegetables, and fresh meats. Ensure proper air circulation by not overfilling and avoiding direct contact between food and the rear wall. Hot foods should be cooled to room temperature before placing them in the refrigerator.
  • Freezer Compartment: Store various frozen foods, including meat, fish, ice cream, and vegetables. For optimal freezing, activate the Quick Freezing function 4-6 hours before placing large quantities of fresh food. Portion foods into individual packages and label them with the freezing date, time, and product name. Do not refreeze thawed foods unless they are cooked.
  • Specific Storage Guidelines:
    • Meat and Fish: Store in sealed containers or wrapped tightly. Freezing times vary from 1-3 months for minced meat to 8-12 months for beef.
    • Fruits and Vegetables: Blanching or shock boiling some vegetables (e.g., green peas, string beans) can extend their frozen storage time. Most fruits and vegetables can be stored for 6-12 months when frozen at -18°C.
    • Dairy Products: Cheese can be stored for 6-8 months, and butter/margarine for 6 months, in their original packaging or wrapped in foil/plastic.
  • Energy Saving Tips: Avoid frequent or prolonged door openings, do not place hot food inside, and ensure proper internal air circulation. Use crisper drawers for fruits and vegetables to maintain freshness and save energy.

Control Panel:

  • Temperature Adjustment: Set desired temperatures for both cooler and freezer compartments.
  • Vacation Function: Activate for energy saving during long absences.
  • Quick Freezing: Use for rapid freezing of fresh food.
  • Wireless Connectivity: Connect to the HomeWhiz app for remote control and monitoring.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

  • General Cleaning: Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. Use a mildly dampened micro-fiber cloth with warm water and a soft cleaning solution (soap, water, and carbonate) for internal surfaces. Avoid abrasive tools, chemical solvents, gas, gasoline, thinner, alcohol, or wax, as these can damage plastic parts or cause deformation.
  • External Surfaces: For stainless steel surfaces, use a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaning agent and a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping along the grain.
  • Ventilation Grill: Remove dust from the rear ventilation grill at least once a year (without opening the cover) to ensure adequate ventilation and prevent increased power consumption.
  • Door Gaskets: Clean door gaskets regularly. Damaged or worn gaskets can cause the product to run longer.
  • Preventing Odors: Clean the interior with carbonated water every 15 days. Store foods in sealed containers and discard expired or spoiled items.

Troubleshooting:

  • Refrigerator Not Working: Check if the power plug is fully inserted and if the fuse is blown.
  • Compressor Not Working: If the compressor does not restart after a power outage, wait approximately 6 minutes. If the issue persists, contact authorized service.
  • Increased Operating Noise: This is normal and may vary with ambient temperature. Ensure the product is on a level, sturdy surface.
  • Condensation: Frequent door openings, high humidity, or unsealed liquid containers can cause condensation.
  • Door Not Closing: Check for food packages blocking the door and ensure the product is level.
  • Illumination Lamp Replacement: Contact authorized service for lamp replacement.

Disposal:

  • Old Product: Disable door locks to prevent children from getting trapped. Do not damage the cooling system, as the coolant (R600a) is harmful to the eyes and flammable. Do not dispose of the product by throwing it into fire due to the flammable R600a gas and C-Pentane insulation.
  • WEEE Compliance: Dispose of the product at official collection points for recycling electrical and electronic devices, in accordance with EU WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU).
  • Packaging Materials: Recycle packaging materials according to national environmental regulations.
