Overview

This document is a user manual for a Beko Dryer, providing essential information for its safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The specific models covered by this manual are DCX 83100 B, DCX 83100 W, and DCJ 83133 W.

Function Description

The Beko Dryer is designed for domestic use to dry laundry. It operates by circulating heated air through a drum where wet clothes are tumbled. The dryer offers various programs tailored for different fabric types and desired dryness levels, including options for cottons, synthetics, delicates, and specific items like shirts or jeans. Some models may include a drying basket for items not suitable for tumbling. The dryer also features a water tank to collect condensed water during the drying process, which needs to be emptied regularly.

Important Technical Specifications

The dryer's dimensions are:

  • Height (Min. / Max.): 84.6 cm / 86.6 cm (minimum height with adjustable feet closed, maximum height with adjustable feet opened).
  • Width: 59.5 cm.
  • Depth: 60.9 cm.
  • Capacity (max.): 8 kg (dry laundry weight before washing).
  • Net weight (plastic front door usage): 38 kg.
  • Net weight (glass front door usage): 40 kg.
  • Voltage and Rated power input: These specifications are stated on the type label of the dryer.

Technical specifications are subject to change without notice to improve product quality. Figures in the manual are schematic and may not match the product exactly. Values stated on markers or in other published documentation are obtained in laboratory conditions and may vary depending on operational and environmental conditions.

Usage Features

The dryer is operated via a control panel, which includes a programme selection knob, remaining duration indicator, On/Off button, Start/Pause button, End duration button, and a Sound warning button.

Programme Selection: Users can select from various drying programs based on fabric type and desired dryness. Examples include:

  • Cottons: Extra Dry, Cupboard Dry, Iron Dry, Shirt 15 min.
  • Synthetics: Cupboard Dry, Iron Dry.
  • Special Programs: Jeans, Sport, Delicates, Babyprotect, Freshen Up, Timed Programmes.

Drying Levels: Programs offer different dryness levels such as "Extra Dry" (for very dry laundry), "Cupboard Dry" (for laundry ready to be put in the cupboard), and "Iron Dry" (for laundry suitable for ironing).

Auxiliary Functions:

  • Sound warning control: The dryer can emit sound warnings when a program is completed or for notifications. This feature can be turned off.
  • Child Lock: This safety feature prevents children from tampering with the dryer's controls. It can be activated and deactivated via the control panel.
  • End Duration: Users can set a delayed start time for the drying program.

Loading Laundry:

  • Always check pockets for items like lighters, matches, coins, or metal parts before loading.
  • Items soiled with oil, acetone, alcohol, fuel oil, kerosene, stain removers, turpentine, paraffin, or solvents must be washed in hot water with plenty of detergent before being dried.
  • Garments or pillows bolstered with rubber foam (latex foam), shower caps, water resistant textiles, materials with rubber reinforcement, and rubber foam pads must not be dried in the dryer due to fire hazard.
  • Clothing cleaned with industrial chemicals should not be dried in the dryer.
  • Clothes that are washed inadequately may ignite on their own and even ignite after drying ends.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation in the room to prevent gases from accumulating.
  • Do not overload the dryer; refer to the capacity values stated in the table for approximate weights of common laundry items.
  • Always clean the lint filter before or after each loading.

Mounting over a washing machine: A fixing device should be used between the two machines when installing the dryer above a washing machine. The fitting device can be obtained through spare part suppliers. The total weight of the washing machine and the dryer with full load should not exceed approximately 180 kilograms.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the dryer's performance and longevity.

Cleaning the Lint Filter:

  • The lint filter must be cleaned before or after each drying cycle.
  • To clean, open the loading door, pull up the lint filter, and remove lint by hand or with a soft piece of cloth.
  • The inner surfaces of the loading door and the loading door gasket should also be cleaned.
  • A layer can build up on the filter pores that can cause clogging. Wash the lint filter with warm water to remove this layer.

Cleaning the Sensor:

  • Dampness sensors in the dryer determine whether the laundry is dry or not.
  • Clean the metal surfaces of the sensors 4 times a year using a soft cloth dampened with vinegar and dry them. Do not use metal tools.

Draining the Water Tank:

  • The water tank collects condensed water during the drying process.
  • It must be emptied after every drying cycle.
  • To drain, pull the drawer and remove the water tank carefully. The condensed water is not drinkable.
  • If the direct water draining is used as an option, there is no need to empty the water tank.

Cleaning the Condenser:

  • The condenser should be cleaned after every 30 drying cycles or once a month.
  • To clean, open the kick plate, unlock the two condensers, pull out the condenser, and wash it with pressurized water from a shower head until the water drains and the condenser is dry.
  • Place the condenser back in its housing and fasten the locks securely.

Electrical Connection:

  • The appliance must be connected to a grounded outlet protected by a fuse of the value specified on the type label.
  • The voltage and allowed fuse protection are stated on the type label.
  • Do not use extension cords, multi-plugs, or adaptors to connect the dryer to power supply.
  • Damaged mains cable should be changed by an Authorised Service agent.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as:

  • Drying process lasts for a long time.
  • Programme was interrupted for no reason.
  • Laundry is shrunk, damaged, or worn out.
  • The lighting inside the tumble dryer does not turn on.
  • Filter cleaning warning led is on.
  • Water tank warning led is on/flashes.
  • Water is leaking from the condenser cover.

In case of any problem, users are advised to consult the troubleshooting section before contacting an Authorised Service. Do not attempt to repair the dryer by yourself.
