This document provides installation, operating instructions, and drying guidance for the BEKO Condenser Sensor Dryer, model DSC85W. It aims to help users get the best performance from their new tumble dryer.
The BEKO DSC85W is a condenser sensor dryer designed for domestic use. Its primary function is to dry laundry by removing moisture, which is then condensed and collected in a water tank. The dryer uses humidity sensors to detect the dryness level of the laundry, allowing for efficient and precise drying. It offers various drying programs tailored to different fabric types and desired dryness levels, including "Extra dry," "Cupboard dry," "Normal dry," and "Iron dry" for cottons, as well as specific programs for synthetics, delicates, shirts, and jeans. Special programs like "Xpress 35' min." and "Freshen Up" are also available for quick drying or deodorizing. The dryer incorporates an anti-creasing function that activates for 2 hours after a program ends, rotating the laundry in 10-minute intervals to prevent creasing if items are not removed immediately. A time delay function allows users to postpone the start of a drying program for 3, 6, or 9 hours. The machine features a control panel with a program selection knob, start/pause/cancel button, on/off button, and indicators for filter cleaning, water tank full, and program progress. A child-proof lock can be activated to prevent unintended program interruptions.
To operate the dryer, first plug it in and load the laundry. Press the "On/Off" button to power on the machine, then select the desired program using the program selection knob. The program selection should be based on the type of laundry and the desired dryness level, referring to the "Programme Selection Table" for guidance. For optimal energy saving, it is recommended to operate the dryer at full capacity, spin laundry at the highest possible speed in the washing machine, and dry similar types of laundry together. Ensure sufficient clearance for air circulation around the dryer and avoid blocking the front grill. Do not open the door unnecessarily during drying, and avoid adding new wet laundry once a cycle has started, as this can prolong drying time and increase energy consumption.
The dryer includes several warning indicators to assist with usage. A "Filter cleaning warning light" illuminates when the lint filter is full, reminding the user to clean it. The "Water tank warning light" flashes when the water tank is full, at which point the dryer will pause operation until the tank is emptied. After emptying the tank, press the "Start/Pause/Cancel" button to resume the program. The "Programme follow-up indicator" shows the current stage of the drying cycle, with relevant LEDs lighting up to indicate "Drying," "Iron Dry," "Cupboard dry," and "Final / Anti-creasing."
The time delay function is useful for scheduling drying cycles. To use it, load laundry, select a program and any auxiliary functions, then press the time delay button to choose a delay of 3, 6, or 9 hours. Confirm the delayed start by pressing the "Start/Pause/Cancel" button. During the delay period, the laundry rotates for 4 seconds every 10 minutes to prevent creasing, and additional laundry can be added or removed. To cancel a time delay, press and hold the "Start/Pause/Cancel" button for about 3 seconds.
Programs can be changed even after they have started. To do this, press and hold the "Start/Pause/Cancel" button for about 3 seconds to cancel the current program, then select a new program and press "Start/Pause/Cancel" to start it. Laundry can also be added or removed in standby mode by pressing "Start/Pause/Cancel" to pause the machine, opening the door, adding/removing items, closing the door, and pressing "Start/Pause/Cancel" again to resume. However, frequent interruptions will extend the program duration and increase energy consumption.
The child-proof lock feature is activated by simultaneously pressing the "Start/Pause/Cancel" and "Cancel audio warning" buttons for 3 seconds. This deactivates the loading door and all control panel buttons (except "On/Off") to prevent accidental changes during operation. To deactivate, press the same buttons again for 3 seconds.
Regular maintenance is crucial for the efficient and safe operation of the BEKO DSC85W dryer. The primary maintenance tasks involve cleaning the filter cartridge, door inner surface, humidity sensors, and water tank, as well as the condenser.
The filter cartridge and door inner surface should be cleaned after every drying cycle. To clean the filter: open the loading door, remove the cover filter, pull it up, and open it. Remove lint, fiber, and cotton by hand or with a soft cloth. Close the filter and place it back into its seat. If the filter surface becomes clogged over time, wash it with water and dry it before re-using. The filter and filter area can also be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. The entire inner surface of the door and the door gasket should be wiped with a damp cloth.
The humidity sensors in the dryer detect laundry dryness. These metal sensors should be cleaned approximately four times a year. To clean them: open the loading door, allow the machine to cool down if it has been recently used, and wipe the metal sensors with a soft cloth dampened with vinegar, then dry them. Never use solvents, cleaning agents, or similar substances as they can cause fire and explosion.
The water tank collects condensed water from the laundry. It should be drained after each drying cycle or when the "Water tank" warning light illuminates. To drain, remove the water tank as shown in the manual, clean any lint accumulation in the water tank cover, and then place the tank back into its seat. Condensed water is not drinkable.
For condenser models, the condenser needs to be cleaned regularly, ideally after every 30 drying cycles or once a month. To clean the condenser: open the machine door and allow it to cool down. Unlock the two condenser locks after opening the kick plate. Pull out the condenser. Clean the condenser by applying pressurized water with a shower head until the water drains. Finally, place the condenser back into its housing, fasten the two locks securely, and close the kick plate cover.
In case of problems, the manual provides a "Suggested solutions for problems" section to help troubleshoot common issues such as long drying times, wet laundry, the dryer not starting, program interruptions, laundry shrinkage, or warning light indicators. If problems persist, it is recommended to contact an authorized service agent.
