Overview

This document is a user manual for a Beko Freezer, model FFP4671 W - FFP 4671PS. It provides essential information for safe operation, installation, usage, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description:

The Beko Freezer is designed for storing and freezing edible foodstuffs. It features a fast-freeze compartment for quickly freezing fresh food and multiple drawers for organized storage of pre-frozen items. The appliance incorporates a cooling system with natural substances (R600a) and cyclopentane insulation, making it environmentally friendly. A key feature is the "Freezer Guard," which ensures that frozen food will not defrost even if the ambient temperature drops as low as -15 °C, making it suitable for installation in garages or unheated rooms.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: FFP4671 W - FFP 4671PS
  • Refrigerant: R600a (natural substance, non-CFC/HFC)
  • Insulation: Cyclopentane (potentially flammable if exposed to fire)
  • Electrical Requirements: The appliance must be earthed. It operates on a 13A fuse (BS 1362 approved). The voltage and frequency must match the rating plate.
  • Freezing Capacity: At least 4.5 kg of food per 100 liters of freezer compartment volume in 24 hours at 25°C room temperature (EN 62552 standard).
  • Minimum Ambient Temperature for Freezer Guard: -15 °C
  • Minimum Guarantee Duration: 12 months
  • Spare Part Availability: 10 years for original spare parts to operate the refrigerator properly.
  • Room Space Requirement: Not smaller than 10 cubic meters.
  • Clearances:
    • From Cookers: 50 mm (2")
    • From Radiators: 300 mm (2")
    • From Refrigerators or Freezers: 25 mm (1”)
    • Between top of appliance and ceiling/wall cupboard: Minimum 60 mm (2.4 inches)

Usage Features:

  • Thermostat Control: Located on the top trim, it regulates the operating temperature. Settings range from 1 (lowest cooling/warmest) to MAX (highest cooling/coldest).
  • Fast Freeze Function: Recommended for freezing large amounts of fresh food. It should be activated 24 hours before placing fresh food in the fast-freeze compartment. The function automatically deactivates after 50 hours. For small amounts (up to 2 kg/day), the quick freezing function is not needed.
  • Temperature Settings:
    • -20 °C: Default recommended temperature.
    • -21, -22, -23 or -24 °C: Recommended for ambient temperatures higher than 30°C or when the refrigerator is not cool enough due to frequent door openings.
    • Quick Freeze: For freezing food in a short time to preserve quality.
  • Door Open Alarm: An audible "beep" alarm activates if the freezer door is left open or ajar for a few minutes, canceling once the door is fully closed.
  • Food Freezing Guidelines:
    • Divide food into portions before freezing.
    • Boil vegetables for a short period before freezing to protect nutritional value, aroma, and color.
    • Hermetically package boiled vegetables to extend storage times.
    • Do not place hot food directly into the freezer.
    • Avoid contact between unfrozen fresh food and already frozen food.
    • Do not exceed the appliance's 24-hour freezing capacity.
    • Label packages with food name and freezing time.
    • Do not freeze fizzy drinks in glass bottles or cans due to explosion risk.
    • Do not consume frozen foods with moisture or abnormal swelling, as they may be deteriorated.
  • Defrosting Frozen Foods: Options include room temperature (not ideal for quality), refrigerator, electrical oven (with or without fan), or microwave oven.
  • Power Failure Protocol: Do not open the door. Frozen food should remain unaffected for up to 11 hours. For longer failures, check food and consume or re-freeze after cooking.
  • Door Opening Difficulty: A temporary pressure difference may make the door difficult to open immediately after closing; this is normal and equalizes after a few moments.
  • Vacuum Sound: A vacuum sound after closing the door is normal.
  • Delayed Start: The appliance may not start immediately after switching on due to a protection device in the electronics; wait about 5 minutes.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning.
    • Do not use sharp abrasive instruments, soap, household cleaner, detergent, or wax polish.
    • Clean the cabinet with lukewarm water and wipe dry.
    • Clean the interior with a damp cloth wrung out in a solution of one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to one pint of water, then wipe dry.
    • Do not use cleaning agents or water containing chlorine on outer surfaces or chromium-coated parts to prevent corrosion.
  • Long-Term Storage: If not used for a long time, switch off, remove all food, clean, and leave the door ajar.
  • Drawer Removal: Pull out as far as possible, tilt upwards, and then pull out completely.
  • Condenser Cleaning: Remove dust from the condenser (at the back of the freezer) once a year with a vacuum cleaner.
  • Door Seals: Regularly check door seals to ensure they are clean and free from food particles.
  • Self-Repair: End-users can perform self-repair for specific spare parts like door handles, hinges, trays, baskets, and door gaskets. Instructions are available in the user manual or at support.beko.com. Always unplug the product before attempting self-repair. Repairs for other parts or not following instructions may void the warranty and pose safety risks.
