Do you have a question about the Beko WMA 647 W and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document provides installation, operating instructions, and washing guidance for BEKO automatic washing machines, specifically models WMA 647 W, WMA 647 S, WMA 657 W, WMA 657 S, WMA 667 W, and WMA 667 S. It emphasizes reading the manual first for safe and efficient use, particularly regarding safety instructions. The manual also explains symbols used throughout the document, such as important information, warnings for hazardous situations, and warnings for supply voltage. It highlights the recyclability of the appliance's packaging and materials, encouraging proper disposal in accordance with European Directive 2002/96/EC.

Function Description:

The BEKO automatic washing machine is designed to wash various types of laundry using a selection of programs and auxiliary functions. It features a control panel with a program selection knob, display, and buttons for spin speed, time delay, temperature adjustment, start/pause/cancel, and auxiliary functions. The machine performs washing, rinsing, and spinning cycles, with options for prewash, quick wash, extra rinse, and anti-creasing. It also includes special programs for specific needs like "Baby & Toddler Clothing" for increased hygiene, "A Class 40" for energy saving, "Rinse" for separate rinsing or starching, "Spin" for maximum rpm spinning, and "Pump" for water discharge. The machine is equipped with a child-proof lock to prevent tampering during operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

The models covered in this manual have a maximum dry laundry capacity of 6 kg. All models share a height of 84 cm, width of 60 cm, and depth of 54 cm. The net weight for all models is 72 kg. They operate on an electricity supply of 230 V / 50 Hz with a total current of 10 A and a total power of 2200 W. Spin cycle maximum RPM varies by model: WMA 647 W/S have 1400 rpm, WMA 657 W/S have 1500 rpm, and WMA 667 W/S have 1600 rpm. The water supply pressure required is 1-10 bar (0.1 – 1 MPa), with a recommended flow of 10-80 liters per minute. The drain hose should be attached at a height of 40-100 cm. The maximum length for an extension drain hose is 3.2 m.

Usage Features:

  • Program Selection: Users can select programs based on fabric type (Cottons, Synthetics, Woollens, Delicates), soiling degree (Intensive, Mini), and special needs (Baby & Toddler Clothing, A Class 40, Hand Wash).
  • Temperature Selection: The machine allows temperature adjustment in 10-degree decrements, with recommended temperatures displayed for each program.
  • Spin Speed Selection: Spin speed can be adjusted, with the maximum possible rpm displayed by default. Lower spin speeds are recommended for delicate items.
  • Time Delay: A time delay function allows users to set the program to start in 3-24 hours.
  • Auxiliary Functions:
    • Prewash (F1): For heavily soiled laundry, saving energy, water, detergent, and time if not used. Recommended without detergent for veils and curtains.
    • Quick Wash (F2): Shortens wash time for smaller or lightly soiled loads.
    • Extra Rinse (F3): Adds an additional rinse cycle to reduce detergent remnants, beneficial for sensitive skins.
    • Anti-creasing (F4): Lessens drum rotation and limits spinning speed, washing at a higher water level to prevent creasing, especially for delicate laundry (load capacity should be half of maximum).
  • Loading Door: The door is locked during operation and can be opened after a short delay following program end. Laundry can be added or removed during time delay or if water level and temperature are suitable during a running program.
  • Detergent Drawer: Composed of three compartments for prewash, main wash, and softener. Detergent and softener should be added before starting the program. Specific detergents are recommended for different fabric types (e.g., woolens).
  • Overload Protection: The machine adjusts water amount based on laundry load. Overloading degrades washing results.
  • Unbalanced Load Control: The system can pause spinning if laundry distribution in the drum is unbalanced to prevent damage.
  • Rinse Hold: A mode where laundry remains in water after rinsing, allowing users to choose to spin or drain the water later.
  • Child-Proof Lock: Activates by pressing the 2nd and 4th auxiliary function buttons for 3 seconds, preventing changes to the running program.
  • Standby Mode: Activated by pressing the "Start/Pause/Cancel" button briefly, indicated by a standby symbol.

Maintenance Features:

  • Detergent Drawer Cleaning: Remove any powder residue. The siphon in the softener compartment should be cleaned regularly, especially if more than normal softener mixture gathers. The dispenser should be washed with lukewarm water and a brush.
  • Door and Drum Cleaning: After each wash, check for foreign substances in the drum.
  • Outer Cabinet and Control Panel Cleaning: Wipe with soapy water or mild detergent and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive materials.
  • Inlet Water Filters Cleaning: Filters at the end of water intake hoses should be cleaned regularly, especially if water flow is reduced. Close taps, remove nuts, clean filters and gaskets under streaming water, then reassemble.
  • Pump Filter Cleaning: The filter system prevents clogging from solid items. If the machine fails to drain, the pump filter may be clogged and needs cleaning every 2 years or when blocked. Water must be drained off before cleaning the pump filter, especially if the machine is being transported or there's a risk of frost. The filter should only be cleaned after the water has cooled down.
  • Draining Remaining Water: If the product has an emergency drain hose, pull it out, place a container, and remove the plug to drain water. If not, place a container in front of the pump filter, loosen it anticlockwise, and drain the water. Clean any residues around the propeller.
  • Lime Formation Elimination: Use appropriate lime removers specifically for washing machines as needed, following package instructions.
