TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Possible Causes Solution
Coffee drips from the edges
of the lter holder, rather
than through the holes.
The lter holder has not
been inserted correctly.
The holes are blocked in the
lter holder.
Remove the lter and
re-attach the lter again
(see Fig. 1)
Remove the lter and clean
the lter holder.
Espresso no longer drips out There is insufcient water
in the water tank.
The holes in the lter
are blocked.
Fill the water tank with fresh
cold water, taking care not
to exceed the “max”.
Rinse the lter under the tap
and if necessary clean with
a pin.
The coffee is cold The espresso machine
had not undergone the
preheating process.
The green indicator ready
light was not illuminated.
The cups were not
pre-heated.
Follow the “preheating”
instructions.
Wait for the green light
to come on.
Place the cups on the
warming plate for
10 minutes or rinse the
cups under hot water.
The pump is very noisy The water tank is empty. Switch off the machine,
remove the water tank and
rell with fresh cold water.
The crema is poor The ground coffee has not
be pressed down rmly
enough.
There is insufcient coffee.
The ground coffee is not
nely ground enough.
Use the tamper on the end
of the measuring scoop
to press down the coffee
more rmly.
Make sure you use one
scoop of ground coffee
per cup of espresso.
Only use coffee specially
designed for espresso
machines, the coffee will
be a ner grind.
No steam or reduced steam
from the steam spout
The steam nozzle is blocked. Clean the steam nozzle.
