FT 155

OPERATING AND REGULATING THE MACHINE
CAUTION:
Never operate at the same time the drive control lever (Fig.n°3 Ref. “D”) and the
wheels release lever (Fig.n°3 Ref.”B”).
• The FT155 machine has been designed to cut and clean very thick grassy and wooded areas.
• The machine is suitable for rugged terrain and for hilly and mountainous areas which do not, however, have a slope of more
than 50%.
• The handlebar is height-adjustable. The adjustment can be done on the gearbox by adjusting the lowest bolt (Fig. 10 Ref.
"A").
• Before starting work, adjust the cutting height by means of the cutting height adjusting knob (Fig. 6). This height varies
according to the type of terrain, the height of the grass to be cut, the diameter of the shrubs and the sensibility of the
operator.
• When both the blade and the machine start operation, it is advised to move very slowly with the machine at medium speed.
• To engage the blade press with the thumb the security button (Fig.n°4 Ref.”B”) and lower with the palm of the hand the
blade engagement lever (Fig.n°4 Ref.”A”) keeping it pressed on the handlebar.
• To move the machine forward press down the wheels engagement lever (Fig.n°3 Ref.”D”) and keep it pressed on the
handlebar.
• To stop the machine moving forward release the lever (Fig.n°3 Ref.”D”).
• To stop the cutting blade release the lever (Fig.n°4 Ref.”A”).
• To freely move the machine backwards or forwards release the wheels engagement lever (Fig.n°3 Ref.”D”) and pull the
wheels release lever (Fig.n°3 Ref.”B”).
• If the driving belt slips, loosen the register on the lever (Fig.3 Ref. "E"), taking care to leave a space of approximately 5 mm
before the clutch engagement.
•
Please keep the belt properly adjusted, as explained in use and maintenance.
Adjustment of the blade pulley belt tightener :
1. Remove the front hood by unscrewing the four screws that fasten the cover (Fig. 6 Ref. "A").
2.
Remove the bearing protection when the engine is switched off.
3. Press the blade engagement lever (Fig. 4 Ref. "A").
4. Adjust the belt tension (Fig. 8 Ref. "A") with the register (Fig.8 Ref. "A") after loosening the two nuts blocking the
hexagonal pipe, then move the group into the right position.
5. Lock the two nuts and check that in the braked position the cable is free (Fig. 9 Ref. "A).
6. Make sure that the cable (Fig.8 Ref. "D") that operates the blade is not under tension. In case it is under tension adjust the
register situated under the cover ((Fig.8 Ref. "C").
• If the machine has been subjected to heavy use, the discharge may tend to jam. If this happens, the operator should: 1)
raise the cutting height and 2) reduce the working section if the grass is too high or thick.
• If the high grass mower is used near a wall or sidewalk, take care not to bang the blade as this could lead to damage to the
machine.
CAUTION
It is advised not to keep the motor running when the machine is not being
used for its specific purpose.
