The blades are sharp: Risk of serious injury to persons before
cleaning, inspecting, and repairing cutting parts, stop the engine and take out the
ignition key. Now disconnect the spark plug wire and keep the cap away from the
plug to prevent accidental starting (Fig 51).
Hot surfaces: Danger of burns. Wait for the engine to
completely cool down before making any adjustments or servicing the engine itself.
Wear adequate clothes and work gloves to clean the blade and
the blade deck and in all situations in which risk exists for your hands.
Never throw old oil, petrol, or other polluting products away into the
environment.
Blade sharpening and balancing adjustments, including removal and
retting, are demanding operations which require specic competence, as well as
special equipment especially for safety reasons. These operations must be carried out
by a specialized after-sale center. The same applies to the replacement of blades
with new blades.
Any damaged or bent blades must always be changed for safety
reasons. Always use original blades.
