CAUTION Do not over tension the furling cable. Tightening the cable
beyond the amount required to furl the wind turbine will
reduce its ability to track the wind and may damage the
furling system.
To return the turbine to the straight, normal operation, position, grasp the winch handle
firmly and then release the ratchet mechanism. The cable can now be slowly unwound
until the turbine has fully straightened out and the cable is slightly slack. It is a good
idea to then reengage the ratchet.
DANGER Hold the winch handle firmly before the ratchet is
released and until all tension is removed from the cable.
The winch handle could whirl dangerously if it is released
before the cable tension is reduced.
