Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be
avoided by taking proper precautions as listed below:
 Maintain a firm grip, with thumbs and fingers encircling the chainsaw handles, with both
hands on the saw and position your body an arm to allow you to resist kickback forces.
Kickback forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken. Do not let go
of the chainsaw.
 Do not overreach and do not cut above shoulder height. This helps prevent unintended tip
contact and enables better control of the chainsaw in unexpected situations.
 Only use replacement bars and chains specified by the manufacturer. Incorrect replacement
bars and chains may cause chain breakage and/or kickback.
 Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening and maintenance instructions for the chainsaw.
Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to increased kickback.

For your own safety and the safety of others, please read this information carefully before using the
chainsaw or hedge trimmer and keep is in a safe place for reference.
Use the chainsaw only to saw wood or objects made of wood. Any other types of use are at your
own risk and could be dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage caused by
improper or incorrect usage.
To prevent the incorrect handling of the chainsaw, please read the operation instructions in their
entirety before using the long-reach lopper and trimmer for the first time. All the information on the

 Before plugging in, check the plug and cable for damage. If the replacement of the power cord
is necessary, this must only be done by a competent person.
 Never use a damaged power cable, connection, plug or a power cable which does not comply
with the requirements. If the cable is damaged or severed, unplug immediately.
 Always wear goggles and protective gloves when working with the chainsaw.
 To prevent injury, wear fitted clothing (not loose) and safety boots.
 To prevent damage to your hearing, wear ear defenders. Helmets with a visor are particularly
advantageous.
 Make sure that you have firm footing when working with the chainsaw.
 Keep your place of work tidy.
 To prevent electric shock, avoid contact with earthed parts.
 Always pull the plug out of the power socket before doing any work on the chainsaw.
 Ensure that the appliance is switched off before plugging in to the mains outlet.
 The long-reach lopper and trimmer must be used by one person at a time. All other people
must stay clear of the operation area. Children and pets, in particular, must be kept well away
at all times.
 Ensure that the chainsaw or hedge trimmer is not in contact with any objects prior to starting.

 The chainsaw or hedge trimmer must not be operated by children and young people. The only
exceptions to this are young persons aged 16 years and over, and those who can use the tools
