PROBLEMS AND CAUSES
Symptom Possible cause Solution
Device loses power or does not
work
1. Dirt in the motor
2. Not enough air pressure
3. Motor not oiled or rusty due
to lack of oil
4. Device has not been oiled
5. Worn bearings
1a. Oil the device with special air tool oil and
use this to clean the air tool motor
1b. Open the device and clean it
2. Check the compressor and air hoses, and
the setting on the pressure reducing valve
3. Oil the device as per the instructions
4. Replace the bearings
Reduced torque
1. Not enough lubrication
2. Pressure reducing valve
incorrectly set
3. Not enough air pressure in
the system
4. Striking mechanism worn
1. Lubricate the striking mechanism
2. Correctly set the pressure reducing valve
3. Check the compressed air system
4. Replace the striking mechanism
Striking mechanism of device is
not working
Striking mechanism is faulty Replace the striking mechanism
The device starts up on its own
when the air supply is connected
Extractor unit:
1. Valve is stuck
2. Rust in the tool balancer
3. Spring faulty or rusty
Replace the extractor unit
Water escapes from the air outlet
of the device
1. Water in the pressure tank
