4. Fit the required accessory to the appliance. Press the accessory onto the shaft, and then turn the
accessoryanticlockwise.Thepinsprojectingfromtheaccessorymustbesecuredintheopeningsinthe
shaft.
5. Presstheliftbuttondownwardswithonehand,andpushthemixerheaddownwardswithyourother
handuntiltheheadlocksinposition.
6. Puttheplugintothewallsocket.
7. Turnthespeeddialtotherequiredsetting.Begin
atthelowestspeed.Turnthedialtothe‘PULSE’
positionifyouwishtomixtheingredientsbriefly.
8. Whentheingredientshavebeenmixedswitch
offtheappliancebyturningthespeeddialtothe
‘0’position.
9. Removetheplugfromthewallsocket.
10.Presstheliftbuttondownwardswithonehand,
andliftthemixerheadwithyourotherhanduntil
theheadlocksintheraisedposition.
11.Turnthemixingbowltotheleft(anticlockwise)
to release it, and remove the bowl from the
appliance.
12.Remove the accessory from the appliance by
turningtheaccessoryclockwiseandremoving
itfromtheshaft.

TIPS - General tips
• Alwaysbeginwiththespeeddialsettoposition1,andthengraduallyincreasethespeedtoahigher
setting(see‘Recommendedspeeds’).
• Youusethe‘PULSE’positiontooperatetheappliancebriefly.The‘PULSE’functionoperatesonlywhilst
thedialisheldinthisposition.
TIPS - Mixing ingredients
• Makesurethattheingredientsareatroomtemperature.
• Warmthemixerbowlandmixingbladebyfillingthebowlwithhotwater,fittingittotheappliance,and
thenloweringthemixingbladeintothewater.Disposeofthewaterbeforeyouusetheappliance.
• Whilstyouaremixingtheingredientspauseoccasionallytoscrapethesidesofthemixingbowl.Always
makesuretheapplianceisswitchedoffbeforeyoudoso!
TIPS - Mixing batter for cakes, pie crusts, and biscuits
• Coolthemixingbowlandmixingbladeasmuchaspossiblebyplacingthemintherefrigeratorfora
periodoftime.
• Beginmixingtheingredientsbysettingthedialtoposition1.Thenbeattheingredientstoalightbatter
atthehighestspeed(see‘Recommendedspeeds’).
TIPS - Mixing dough for bread, and other fermenting doughs
Neverkneadthedoughforanexcessivetime,sinceitwillnotrise.
TIPS - Beating whipped cream and egg white
• Makesurethatthemixingbowlandwhiskarethoroughlycleanbeforeyoustart.
• Donotbeatwhippedcreamforanexcessivetime,otherwiseitwillbecomefluidandisnolongersuitable
forpiping.
