Overview

This document describes the Beurer LB 37 Air Humidifier, a device designed to improve ambient air quality in indoor spaces. The humidifier is suitable for rooms up to 20 m² in size and operates quietly with low energy consumption. It automatically switches off when the water tank is empty and features a night mode for undisturbed sleep.

Function Description

The Beurer LB 37 Air Humidifier works on the principle of high-frequency vibrations that release tiny water droplets from the surface of the water. A fan then draws in air through an aroma compartment on the side of the device, distributing the humidified air into the room. The device can also be used with aromas if desired, by adding drops of aroma/scented oils to the aroma compartment. It is crucial not to add aroma directly to the water in the tank, as this can discolour and damage the plastic material, and cause the ultrasound membrane to get stuck.

The device is designed to address issues caused by overly dry ambient air, which often occurs in winter when cold, dry air enters living spaces and is then warmed up. Dry air can lead to various negative effects, including dry mucous membranes and lips, irritated eyes, increased likelihood of infections and respiratory diseases, exhaustion, tiredness, difficulty concentrating, faster dust formation, electrostatic charging of textiles, damage to wooden furniture and parquet floors, and musical instruments going out of tune. Maintaining a humidity level between 40% and 60% is recommended for ideal ambient air.

Usage Features

The Beurer LB 37 is straightforward to use, offering three different operating modes controlled by a single ON/OFF button:

  • Level 1 (Blue LED): Pressing the ON/OFF button once activates Level 1, providing an evaporation output of approximately 200 ml/h. The LED lighting will be blue.
  • Level 2 (White LED): Pressing the ON/OFF button twice activates Level 2, with an evaporation output of approximately 150 ml/h. The LED lighting will be white.
  • Night Mode (LED Off): Pressing the ON/OFF button three times activates Night Mode. In this mode, the device operates at Level 2 (150 ml/h evaporation output) but with the LED lighting turned off to ensure undisturbed and restful sleep.
  • Switching Off: Pressing the ON/OFF button four times turns the device off, and the LED lighting will also go off. The device should then be disconnected from the mains socket.

Before initial use, users should unpack the device carefully, removing all packaging material, protective inserts, and plastic coverings. It is important to check the device, mains plug, and cable for any damage. The humidifier should be placed on a firm, flat, and water-resistant surface, not on the floor, but in a raised position (e.g., on a table or chest of drawers). The mist outlet should not be directed towards objects, and no objects should be inserted into the device openings or placed on the device itself. The device should not be exposed to high temperatures or direct sunlight.

Filling the water tank is a simple process:

  1. Lift and rotate the water tank.
  2. Open the screwed plug on the water tank.
  3. Fill the tank with fresh drinking water (below 40°C). The tank holds a maximum of 2 litres.
  4. Tightly close the screwed plug.
  5. Rotate the water tank and position it securely on the base unit.

If there is insufficient water in the tank, a red LED will light up, and the device will switch off for safety reasons. Users should regularly check the ambient air humidity to prevent excessive humidification, ensuring it does not exceed 60%.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and disinfection are essential for hygienic and fault-free operation of the Beurer LB 37. The frequency of cleaning depends on water quality and usage duration, but specific intervals are recommended:

  • Every three days: Clean the ultrasound membrane with the provided brush and rinse the base unit. Rinse the water tank and replace the water.
  • As required: Clean the air humidifier inside and out, and descale the device.

The device must always be switched off and unplugged from the mains socket before any cleaning or maintenance. If the device has not been used for over a week, the water tank must be cleaned, and the humidifier completely emptied.

Cleaning the ultrasound membrane and rinsing the base:

  1. Empty water from the base unit via the side rim, ensuring no water enters the device through openings like the fan.
  2. Use the cleaning brush to clean the ultrasound membrane.
  3. Empty any dirty residue from the base unit via the side edge. If residue remains, pour clean, fresh water into the base unit and empty it out again.

Rinsing the water tank and replacing water:

  1. Clean the water tank regularly, at least once a week if used daily.
  2. Use a mild cleaning agent or vinegar/vinegar-based cleaner.
  3. Clean the thread of the screwed plug with a soft brush.
  4. Half-fill the water tank with water.
  5. Tightly close the screwed plug.
  6. Shake the water tank back and forth several times.
  7. Completely empty the water.
  8. Repeat the process with clean, fresh water.

Cleaning the air humidifier inside and out:

  1. Empty water from the base unit via the side edge.
  2. Wipe the air humidifier with a damp cloth inside and out.
  3. Use only a mild flushing agent or vinegar/vinegar-based cleaner for cleaning.

Descaling the ultrasound membrane:

Hard water can lead to limescale deposits on the ultrasound membrane.

  1. Drop some descaler onto the ultrasound membrane.
  2. Allow it to take effect for two to five minutes.
  3. Clean the ultrasound membrane using the cleaning brush.
  4. Rinse the base unit twice with clean, fresh water.

Cleaning inside the base unit:

  1. Dip a damp, soft cloth briefly in descaling solution.
  2. Use this cloth to wipe the inside of the base unit.
  3. Carefully pour some clean, fresh water into the base unit.
  4. Empty the water from the base unit via the side edge.
  5. Repeat the process using clean, fresh water.

Descaling the water tank:

  1. Half-fill the water tank with water.
  2. Add a small quantity of descaler.
  3. Tightly close the water tank using the screwed plug.
  4. Shake the water tank by rocking it back and forth several times.
  5. Completely empty the descaling solution.
  6. Repeat the process with clean, fresh water.

Only the specified cleaning methods should be used. Liquid must never enter the base unit. Solvent-based cleaning products should be avoided. Only mild flushing agents or vinegar/vinegar-based cleaners are suitable for cleaning or disinfection.

The Beurer LB 37 also supports an optional anti-limescale filter, especially recommended for hard water. This filter helps prevent limescale build-up, which can otherwise form white deposits. The service life of the anti-limescale filter is approximately two to three months. If the device is not used for a relatively long time, the anti-limescale filter must be removed from the water tank and dried out. To fit the filter: lift and rotate the water tank, open the screwed plug, screw the anti-limescale filter onto the screwed plug, and then close the water tank using the screwed plug.
