9. INSTALLATION AND ACTIVATION BF002/BF005
ATTENTION: read and follow carefully all the safety instrucons previusly reported, pay aenon to
the instrucons about the electrical system to which the appliance is connected.
» Before starng, ensure that the boiler contains water. Before lling the boiler unplug the machine
from the socket.
Do not unscrew the security tap (2) before ensuring that the machine is not connected to the electric
outlet. If the boiler is hot and pressured unscrew the tap very slowly.
Unscrew by half-a-turn the tap (2) to get rid of residual pressure and heat inside the boiler. When the
boiler is cool, unscrew carefully the tap and add tap-water using a funnel.
WATER MUST NOT BE DISTILLED AND/OR DEMINERALIZED. While lling the boiler, be careful not to let
water out from the inlet, at the end of the operaon close the tap not too ghtly. Some water drops
may come out from the iron together with the steam.
9.1 USE
» Connect the power cable to a grounded socket and ensure that it is fully extended and not twisted.
Do not pull the power cable, crush it and/or stretch it.
ATTENTION: ENSURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS EQUIPPED WITH A DIFFERENTIAL SWITCH (LI-
FE-SAVING SYSTEM) AND WITH A PROTECTIVE CONDUCTOR (GROUNDING SYSTEM).
» Acvate the general/iron switch (5) and the boiler switch (5).
» Wait for the pressure gauge (9) reach approximately 3 bars to start to work. It may take up to 20
minutes.
» For dry-ironing acvate only the iron switch (5).
» Set the iron temperature using the knob (7) according to the fabric (the opmal temperature is 50/70 °C).
» Test the temperature on a hidden part of a cloth to be ironed. A high temperature may burn fabrics or
cause the unwelcome shiny eect. This may be avoided using an an-shine Teon base.
» While ironing the steam ready light (6) will turn on and o depending on the pressure inside the boiler.
Do not unscrew the tap while the boiler is pressured/in use.
» Set the iron thermostat (7) in the desidered posion. Press on the red buon on the iron handle (11)
to deliver steam. Address the rst steam jet far from people and/or animals, to a safe direcon, and press
several mes to get rid of possible condensaon.
At the end of the job, turn o all the switches and unplug the machine from the outlet. It is not neces-
sary to empty boiler. Empty the boiler at least once a month.
» When the iron stops to deliver steam, turn o all the switches. Open carefully the safety tap to get rid
of residual pressure. Wait 5 minutes for the boiler to be cooler and ll it following the instrucons.
