COOKING TIPS
WARNING
Cooking on the G : Use barbecue mitts for handling the cooking gr . For SLOWER cooking, shift the
cooking gr toward the rear and into the upper gr bracket slots. For FASTER cooking, shift the
cooking gr toward the front and into the lower gr bracket slots. Use the lower position for searing
steaks and hamburgers or when more heat is needed. Food cooks very fast at this position, so watch your
food carefully.
Raise the gr to the upper slot to finish cooking steaks and hamburgers. Start cooking with the gr in
the upper position for meats, such as pork and chicken, that have to be cooked a long time. The top grate
height is good for any time your fire is very hot.
Do not grasp the cooking gr
with your hands while it is hot. Use barbecue mitts for handling. Do not
use water.
Always wash your hands thoroughly with warm soapy water before starting your meal preparations and
after handling fresh meat, fish and poultry.
Defrost meat, fish and poultry in the refrigerator before cooking, not at room temperature.
Thoroughly wash all plates and cooking utensils with warm soapy water.
Keep raw meats separate from cooking foods. Do not use the same plates to handle raw meats and cooked
foods.
Use separate cooking utensils for handling raw meats and cooked foods when grilling.
