RL39 - Repair instructions for changing the frame
Version 1.0, last revised 03/2016
54/58
244.
Press the brake pads in the brake caliper apart with the aid of the transport
lock and fit the brake caliper on the brake mounting of the rear stay. Make sure
that the brake disc is correctly seated between the brake pads.
Only use genuine bolts or, if reinstalling used bolts, apply a drop of thread lock (medium strength, e.g. Loctite 243)
to the thread before reusing.
245.
Tighten the brake caliper retaining bolts only until the brake caliper can still
be moved sideways by hand.
YY. Aligning the brake caliper
246.
Check that the brake caliper is correctly aligned. If the brake disc is not
centered in the brake caliper slot and rubs when the wheel is turning, then the
brake caliper must be realigned.
247.
Loosen the brake caliper retaining bolts using a size 5 Allen wrench until the
brake caliper can just be moved sideways by hand.
248.
Operate the brake lever several times until the brake pads touch the brake disc
and hold the brake lever in the pulled position.
