The BISSELL® air320 (Model 3002F) is an air purifier designed to improve indoor air quality. It features the CirQulate® System, which automatically adjusts filtration based on real-time air quality readings. The device is intended for household use and operates on a 220-240 volt A.C. 50-60 Hz power supply.
The primary function of the BISSELL® air320 is to filter microscopic particles from the air, such as dust, pollen, and smoke, to enhance indoor air quality. When set to Auto Mode, the CirQulate® System utilizes a PM 2.5 sensor to detect these particles and automatically adjusts the fan speed to provide optimal filtration. The device provides real-time feedback on air quality through a digital display that shows a three-digit numerical reading and a corresponding color (blue for good, yellow for moderate, and red for poor air quality). This visual and numerical feedback makes invisible air quality concerns visible to the user.
To begin using the air purifier, users must first remove the fabric front panel and then take out the two filters, which are sealed in plastic bags. It is crucial to remove the filters from their plastic packaging before reinserting them into the device. The filters should be reinstalled with the tabs facing outward, starting with the carbon filter. After the filters are correctly in place, the fabric front panel can be reattached, and the device can be plugged into an electrical outlet.
The air purifier is turned on by pressing the power button. Upon activation, the digital display on the front will show a real-time reading of the indoor air quality. The device offers five different fan speeds, ranging from low to high, which can be selected by turning the control dial. Additionally, an Auto Mode is available, which can be engaged by turning the control dial counter-clockwise until an "A" appears on the display. In Auto Mode, the air purifier intelligently adjusts its operation based on the detected air quality, ensuring efficient and effective filtration without constant manual intervention.
The BISSELL® air320 is designed for indoor use only. Users should avoid operating the appliance in enclosed spaces filled with vapours from oil-based paint, paint thinner, moth-proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapours. It should not be used near water or in damp/wet locations. The appliance should be placed on a level surface to ensure proper operation. It is important not to carry the appliance while it is in use.
Regular maintenance is essential for the optimal performance of the BISSELL® air320. The filters, consisting of a HEPA filter and an activated carbon filter, should be replaced approximately every six months. The device indicates when a filter needs replacement through its digital display, showing "F-1" for the HEPA filter, "F-2" for the carbon filter, or "F-1 and F-2" if both require replacement. To replace the filters, the user follows the same steps as the initial setup: remove the fabric front panel, take out the old filters, remove new filters from their plastic bags, insert the new filters with tabs facing outward (carbon filter first), and reattach the front panel. After replacing the filter(s), the power button must be pressed and held for 3 seconds to reset the filter indicator. The device will beep, and the "F-1" and/or "F-2" display will disappear, confirming the reset.
In addition to filter replacement, the fabric front panel should be occasionally vacuumed to remove accumulated dust, which helps maintain airflow and aesthetic appeal.
For accurate air quality readings, the particulate sensors and sensor screen require cleaning every three months. To clean the sensors, the user needs to press the tab on the sensor cover and pull it open. The sensor screen can then be removed. Both the screen and the particulate sensor should be gently cleaned with a cotton swab. After cleaning, the sensor screen and cover must be reinstalled. If the air320 consistently shows a high air quality reading for an extended period, it may indicate a need for more detailed sensor maintenance, and users are advised to consult the 'Filter and Sensor Maintenance' video available on global.BISSELL.com.
Before performing any servicing or cleaning operations, the appliance must be unplugged from the electrical outlet. This ensures safety and prevents electric shock. It is also important to unplug the appliance when not in use or before moving it. The power cord should be handled with care, avoiding pulling or carrying the appliance by the cord, closing doors on the cord, or wrapping it around sharp edges. The cord should be kept away from heated surfaces and arranged to prevent tripping hazards. The appliance should not be used with a damaged cord or plug. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazards.
