Why won't my Bissell POWERGLIDE 1642 Vacuum Cleaner pick up dirt?
- CChristian GutierrezAug 10, 2025
There are several reasons why your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner might not be picking up dirt. Here are some things to check: * The filters may be dirty: Remove and rinse the pre-motor and post-motor filters, and allow them to dry completely before reinserting. * The main hose may not be connected: Reconnect the main hose by pushing the hose connection until the latch is secure. * There may be a crack or hole in the main hose: Order a new main hose from the BISSELL website. * The power brush bristles may be worn: Replace the power brush. * There may be a clog in the vacuum: Remove any debris or entanglements. * The dirt container may not be seated correctly: Press the Empty Button to release the Dirt Container and reseat it properly.
