Why is my Bissell Vacuum Cleaner not picking up dirt?
- JJason MaciasJul 28, 2025
If your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner isn't picking up dirt, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that the dirt bag isn't full; if it is, replace it. Next, check the filter for dirt and debris, cleaning or replacing as needed. Also, verify that the hose is securely attached at both ends. Make sure the bag door is properly in place, without any obstructions. If the vacuum path is clogged, visually inspect the air passageway, hose inlet, and hose for blockages, carefully removing any obstructions. Other potential issues include a broken or stretched rotating power brush drive belt (replace if necessary), worn floor brush bristles (replace the floor brush), or a jammed floor brush (remove and clean any debris from the brush and ends, checking the drive belt for damage).
