TROUBLE ANALYSIS
The air conditioner does not start
Wall plug disconnected. Push plug firmly into a wall outlet.
House fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped. Replace the fuse with time delay type or reset circuit breaker.
Plug Current Device Tripped. Press the RESET button.
Power is OFF. Turn power ON.
Air from the unit does not feel cold
enough
Room temperature below 62

C). Cooling may not occur until room temperature rises above 62
°
F (17

C).
Temperature sensing behind air filter element touching the cold coil. Keep it from the cold coil.
Set to a lower temperature.
The compressor stopped when changing modes. Wait for 3 minutes after set to the COOL mode.
Air conditioner cooling, but the room is
too warm-ice forming on coding coil
behind the decorative front.
Outdoor temperature below 64

C). To defrost the coil, set FAN ONLY mode.
An air filter may be dirty. Clean filter. Refer to the Care and Cleaning section. To defrost, set to FAN ONLY mode.
Thermostat set too cold for night-time cooling. To defrost the coil, set to FAN ONLY mode. Then, set the temperature to a
Higher setting.
Air conditioner cooling but the room is
too warm – No ice forming on cooling
coil behind the decorative front.
Dirty air filter- air restricted. Clean air filter. Refer to the Care and Cleaning section.
The temperature is set too low. Set the temperature to a higher setting.1 is the MIN setting and 7 is the coldest MAX setting.
The front of units is blocked by drapes, blinds, furniture, etc.- restricts air distribution.
Clear blockage in the front of the unit.
Open doors, windows, or registers may allow cold air to escape. Close any doors. windows. or registers.
The room may be too warm. Allow additional time to remove “stored heat from walls, ceiling, floor, and furniture.
The air conditioner turns on and off
rapidly
Dirty air filter- air restricted. Clean air filter.
Outside temperature is extremely hot. Set FAN speed to a Higher setting to bring air past cooling coils more frequently.
Noise when the unit is coding
Air movement sound. This is normal. If too loud, set to a slower FAN setting.
Window vibration – poor installation. Refer to installation instructions or check with the installer.
Water dripping INSIDE when the unit
is cooling.
Improper installation. Tilt the air conditioner slightly to the outside to allow water drainage. Refer to installation instructions –
check with installer.
Water dripping OUTSIDE when the
unit is coding.
Unit removing a large quantity of moisture from the humid room. This is normal during excessively humid days.
Room too cold The temperature is set too high. Set the temperature to a lower setting.1 Is the MIN setting and 7 is the coldest MAX setting.

Any repair, replacement, or warranty service, and all questions about this product should be directed to BLACK+DECKER at 844-299-0879 from the USA or Puerto Rico.
W. Appliance Co. warrants to the original purchaser that the product will be free from defects in material, parts and workmanship for the period designated for this
product. The warranty commences the day the product is purchased and covers up to a period of 1 year (12 months) for labor/1 year (12 months) for parts
(manufacturing defects only).
BLACK+DECKER agrees that it will, at its option, replace the defective product with either a new or remanufactured unit equivalent to your original purchase during the
warranty period.
Exclusions: This warranty does not apply if any of the following conditions exist:
1. The appearance or exterior of the product has been damaged or defaced or altered or modified in either design or construction.
2. The product’s original serial number has been altered or removed, or cannot be readily determined.
3. Damage is due to a power line surge, or connection to an improper voltage source.
4. Damage is due to general misuse, accidents, or acts of God.
5. Repair attempts were made by unauthorized service providers; parts other than genuine parts were used, or parts were obtained from unauthorized service
companies.
6. The product was transferred from the original owner.
7. The product was purchased as refurbished, like new, or second-hand, or with “As-Is” or “Final Sale” terms.
