The BLACK MAX Electric Pressure Washer is designed for cleaning various outdoor surfaces and objects using a high-pressure stream of water. It is suitable for most small to large horizontal or vertical exterior surfaces, smaller exterior objects and structures, and outdoor equipment and tools. Specific applications include cleaning or removing mold and mildew from weathered decks, driveways, patios, walkways, and sidewalks; removing dirt from house exteriors, siding, fences, brick, concrete, or stone walls; and washing boats, outdoor furniture, garden equipment, gutters, window screens, grills, and playground equipment. The unit is equipped with a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) plug for enhanced electrical safety and a lock-out feature on the trigger handle to prevent unauthorized use. It is designed for use with "downstream" pressure washer detergents, with options for "upstream" detergents available through customer service.

Usage Features

The pressure washer is designed for user-friendly operation with several key features:

ON/OFF Switch: A simple switch to turn the pressure washer on and off.
Trigger Handle with Lock-Out: The trigger handle provides a comfortable grip and releases a stream of water for cleaning. The lock-out mechanism prevents accidental activation, enhancing safety. To engage the lock-out, push it up until it clicks into the slot. To disengage, push it down to its original position.
Nozzle Storage: Dedicated storage areas for the nozzles (15°, Turbo, Soap) are provided on the machine for convenience.
Soap Tank: A removable cap allows for easy addition of pressure washer detergents. The unit is designed for "downstream" detergents, meaning detergent is applied at low pressure after the high-pressure pump.
High Pressure Hose Storage: A hook-and-loop strap is provided to secure the high-pressure hose on the machine when not in use, preventing kinks and damage.
Power Cord Storage Brackets: Convenient brackets allow for organized storage of the power cord. The left bracket can be rotated clockwise and removed for quick release of the cord.

Connecting Hoses:
- Spray Wand to Trigger Handle: The spray wand connects to the trigger handle by pushing it in and rotating clockwise.
- High Pressure Hose to Trigger Handle: The high-pressure hose collar screws into the trigger handle inlet coupler.
- High Pressure Hose to Pump: The high-pressure hose collar screws onto the threaded outlet on the pump.

Starting Procedure:
1. Connect all hoses.
2. Turn on the garden hose and pull the trigger to release air pressure until a steady stream of water appears.
3. With the on/off switch in the OFF position (O), connect the pressure washer to the power supply.
4. Press the reset button on the GFCI plug.
5. Put the on/off switch in the ON position (I) to start the motor.
Stopping Procedure:
1. Put the on/off switch in the OFF position (O).
2. Pull the trigger to release water pressure.
Nozzle Selection: A "Nozzle Selection Guide" is provided, categorizing nozzles (Turbo, 15°, Soap) by pressure level (high or low) and recommended applications (concrete, siding, fencing, lawn equipment). Users are advised to start cleaning with the nozzle 1-2 feet away from the surface and slowly approach until the desired cleaning level is achieved to prevent surface damage.
Washing with Detergent:
1. Disconnect the pressure washer from the power supply.
2. Pour detergent into the soap tank (using a funnel if needed).
3. Install the blue soap nozzle on the spray wand.
4. Squeeze the trigger and wait for detergent to appear (approx. 5 seconds).
5. Spray detergent on a dry surface using long, even, overlapping strokes, avoiding drying on the surface to prevent streaking.
6. Before shutting off, fill the soap tank with clean water and spray until empty to rinse the system.
Rinsing: After detergent application, remove the soap nozzle, select the appropriate cleaning nozzle, and rinse the area from top to bottom with overlapping strokes.
Pump Protector: Regular use of a commercially available pump protector is recommended to prolong the life of the pressure washer by removing mineral deposits, lubricating seals, and preventing freeze damage. It should be added after every use and before storage.

Maintenance Features

The manual outlines several maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity and safe operation of the pressure washer:

General Maintenance:
- Avoid using solvents for cleaning plastic parts; use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, and grease.

1. Unplug the pressure washer.
2. Turn off the pressure washer and water supply. Pull the trigger to release water pressure.

4. Clear any foreign materials from the nozzle with a straightened paper clip or fine needle.
5. Back-flush the nozzle with a garden hose (running water from outside to inside).
6. Reconnect the nozzle to the spray wand.
Pump Lubrication: The pump is pre-lubricated for its lifetime under normal operating conditions and does not require further lubrication.
Pump Maintenance: Routinely inspect the pump for lubricant leaks. If leaks are noticed, take the pressure washer to an authorized service center for repair. There are no user-serviceable parts in the pump, and attempting to service it will void the warranty.
Storage:
- Store in a dry, covered, frost-free area.
- Empty all water from hoses, the pump, and the soap tank before storing to prevent freeze damage (freeze damage voids the warranty).
- Ensure the on/off switch is in the OFF position (O).
- Disconnect both high-pressure and garden hoses.
- Tilt the unit to drain any remaining water from the pump inlet.
- Coil the hose and secure it with the hook-and-loop strap on the handle, avoiding kinks.
- Store the unit and accessories away from freezing temperatures and heat sources that could dry out pump seals.

Inspect hoses for damage before each use and ensure they are fully unwrapped and straightened to prevent kinks and potential injection injuries.
Always relieve water pressure and engage the lock-out on the trigger handle before removing nozzles. Never point the nozzle at your face or others.
Do not run the pressure washer without a water supply connected and turned on, as this can damage pump seals and decrease pump life.
Ensure all connections are dry and off the ground to reduce the risk of electrocution.
Hold the trigger handle securely with both hands to counter reaction forces.
