Overview

This document provides instructions for the use, care, and installation of BLANCO rangehoods, specifically models RCWT90X, BWC60TB, BWC90TB, BWC61BT, and BWC91BT.

Function Description:

The BLANCO rangehood is designed to extract cooking fumes and odors from the kitchen environment. It can operate in two primary modes: ducted to the atmosphere (outside) or recirculating. The ducted version (Fig. 1B) expels air outside, while the recirculated version (Fig. 1A) filters the air and returns it to the room. The rangehood helps maintain a clean and fresh kitchen atmosphere by removing grease particles and odors generated during cooking. It is recommended to operate the appliance prior to cooking and for 15 minutes after cooking to effectively eliminate vapors and odors.

Important Technical Specifications:

The manual provides specific technical data for different models:

  • RCWT90X:

    • Voltage: 220 - 240V
    • Frequency: 50/60Hz
    • Lamp Max: 2 x Halogen lamps 20W MAX
    • Rated Input: 290W
    • Dimensions (approximate): Max. 1039 mm height, Min. 707 mm height, 571 mm depth, 100 mm width (top), 485 mm width (base), 900 mm length (base).
  • BWC61BT - BWC91BT:

    • Voltage: 220 - 240V
    • Frequency: 50/60Hz
    • Lamp Max: 2 x LED Lamps 1.5W
    • Rated Input: 253W
    • Dimensions (approximate): Max. 995 mm height, Min. extractor 560 mm height, Min. filter 665 mm height, 318 mm depth, 259 mm width (top), 490 mm width (base), 600-900 mm length (base), 60 mm height (base edge).
  • BWC60TB - BWC90TB:

    • Frequency: 50/60Hz
    • Lamp Max: 2 x LED Lamps 2.5W
    • Rated Input: 255W
    • Dimensions (approximate): Max. 995 mm height, Min. extractor 560 mm height, Min. filter 665 mm height, 318 mm depth, 259 mm width (top), 490 mm width (base), 600-900 mm length (base), 60 mm height (base edge).

The appliance is manufactured as a class II device, meaning no earth cable is necessary. The recommended air exhaust pipe diameter is 150mm for optimal efficiency and reduced noise. The minimum height above the cooktop to the lowest point of the rangehood must be 650 mm.

Usage Features:

The rangehood features intuitive controls (Fig. 9) for operation:

  • Push-button A: On/off lights switch.
  • Push-button B: On/off rangehood switch. A long press (2 seconds) turns off the rangehood from speed level 1. A short press at speed level 1 decreases motor speed.
  • Display C: Indicates the selected motor speed level and activates the timer.
  • Push-button D: Switches on the rangehood and increases the motor speed. Touching this key at 3rd speed activates an intensive function for 10 minutes, after which the appliance reverts to the original speed. The display blinks during this function.
  • Key E: Activates a 15-minute run-on timer at the selected speed, after which the motor automatically turns off. The timer is deactivated by re-pressing Key E. The decimal point on display C flashes when the timer is active. The timer cannot be activated if the intensive speed is functioning.
  • "Clean Air" Function: Activated by pressing key E for 2 seconds when the appliance is off. This function runs the motor at the first speed for 10 minutes every hour. A rotary movement of peripheral segments is visualized on the display during this function. The motor switches off after 10 minutes, and a fixed letter "C" is displayed until the motor restarts after 50 minutes. Pressing any key (except light keys) returns to normal functioning; pressing key E deactivates the function.

The rangehood is designed for use during cooking, and prolonged general illumination from the lights will reduce bulb duration.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent fire hazards.

  • Anti-grease filters (Fig. 5): These filters capture grease particles and must be cleaned regularly, at a maximum of every 2 months, depending on usage frequency. To clean, remove the filters from the rangehood, wash them in a solution of water and neutral liquid detergent, soak, rinse thoroughly with warm water, and allow to dry. They can also be washed in a dishwasher, though aluminum panels may change color over time.
  • Active carbon filters (Fig. 6): Used in recirculating versions, these filters purify the air and are not washable or reusable. They must be replaced at maximum every four months. Saturation depends on usage frequency and cooking type. To replace, apply the filters to the suction unit inside the hood and turn them 90 degrees until the stop catch is tripped. Product Code: ACK62836.
  • Filter Saturation Indicators:
    • If display item C flashes, alternating with letter F (e.g., "1F"), the grease filters need washing.
    • If display item C flashes, alternating with letter A (e.g., "1A"), the carbon filters ACK62836 need replacement.
    • After cleaning/replacing filters, the electronic memory must be reset by pressing button A for approximately 5 seconds until "F" or "T" on display C stops flashing.
  • Light Replacement:
    • Halogen (Fig. 7): For 12 volt 20W Halogen lamps, remove the glass retaining ring and glass, replace the globe with one of the same type, and then replace the glass and retaining ring.
    • LED (Fig. 8): For LED lamps, replacement requires the intervention of a specialized technician.
  • General Cleaning: After installation and removal of the protective layer, it is recommended to clean the rangehood with a stainless steel cleaner.
  • Repairs: Any repairs must be carried out by an authorized Technical Customer Service Centre using original spare parts. Untrained repairs can lead to damage and void the warranty.
  • Safety: Always disconnect the electrical plug prior to any maintenance. Do not check or remove filters while the rangehood is operating. Avoid flambé cooking and constantly check food frying to prevent overheated oil from becoming a fire hazard. Do not touch lighting or adjacent areas when lights are on or shortly after use. Avoid leaving cooktops on without saucepans, as upward heat can damage filters and pose a fire hazard.

The appliance conforms to European Directive EC/2002/96 (WEEE) and should be disposed of responsibly at a suitable recycling point.
