AT2050 Air Hammer
4
Air Strainer
An air strainer is built into the removable air inlet
bushing located at the rear of the air hammer. To
clean, remove the bushing and use an air hose to blow
dirt and other particles from the screen and bushing.
Before reinstalling the air inlet bushing, check the
O-ring for damage. If it is damaged, replace it with a
new O-ring to prevent air leakage. Torque reinstalled
air inlet bushing to 140-160 in. lb. (16-18 N•m).
Impact Power/Frequency
Regulator
Impact power output is governed by the air line
pressure, the regulator setting and the time spent
working. An air line pressure of 90 psig (6.2 bar, 620
kPa) is recommended. This regulator is located near
the trigger and regulates the power and frequency of
the impact blows. It has six settings. “1” is the lowest
power/frequency setting and “6” is the highest.
Installing Bits
WARNING
Disconnect the air hose before changing bits.
The Quick Change Chuck is designed to accept only
0.401” (10.2mm) diameter round shank hammer bits.
They can be quickly installed as follows:
1. Screw the Quick Change Chuck on the threaded end of
the barrel. Using a hex wrench, tighten the three hex
set screws in the base of the chuck to prevent the
chuck from turning due to vibration.
2. To install a hammer bit, pull the textured collar back
toward the housing, insert the bit until the bit collar
passes the four steel balls. Release the textured collar
and make sure the hammer bit is locked in place.
Never insert or remove a hammer bit with the air
supply connected as accidental starting could cause
the bit to fly out of the tool causing serious injury.
