Why won't my Bolens BL-100 Trimmer engine start?

  If your Bolens Trimmer engine won't start, there are several potential causes: * The On/Off control might be in the OFF position. If so, turn it to ON. * The fuel tank may be empty. Refill it with properly mixed fuel. * The primer bulb may not have been pressed enough. Fully and slowly press it 10 times. * The engine could be flooded. Squeeze the trigger and pull the starter rope. * The fuel might be old or improperly mixed. Drain the gas tank and add fresh fuel mixture. * The spark plug may be fouled. Replace or clean it. * The spark arrestor could be plugged. Clean or replace it.

  If the cutting attachment on your Bolens Trimmer won't advance, here's what you can do: * If the cutting attachment is bound with grass, stop the engine and clean it. * If the cutting attachment is out of line, refill it with new line. * If the inner reel is bound up, replace it. * If the cutting head is dirty, clean the inner reel and outer spool. * If the line is welded, disassemble, remove the welded section, and rewind. * If the line was twisted when refilled, disassemble and rewind it. * If not enough line is exposed, push the bump knob and pull out line until 4 inches (102 mm) of line is outside of the cutting attachment.
