Do you have a question about the BOON EDAM Tourlock 120/22 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Tourlock 120/22 is a sophisticated security revolving door system designed to control access and ensure the safety of users. It incorporates various security devices, operational principles, and maintenance features to provide a reliable and secure entry solution.

Function Description

The primary function of the Tourlock 120/22 is to manage pedestrian traffic, allowing authorized individuals to pass while preventing unauthorized entry. It operates as a single-person entry system, ensuring that only one person can pass per authorization. The system can be configured for various access control scenarios, including one-way or two-way controlled access, and can integrate with card reader systems for authorization.

Operational Modes:

  • One Person In/Out: The system allows a single authorized person to enter or exit. After authorization (e.g., via a card reader), the doorset rotates 120° in the specified direction (ACW for entry, CW for exit).
  • Free In/Out: In this mode, the doorset allows free passage in either direction without requiring authorization.
  • Locking: The doorset can be locked, preventing any rotation and securing the entrance.
  • Failsecure Mode: In the event of a power failure, the doorset will be blocked in the failsecure mode, preventing passage.
  • Emergency Unlocking: An option for emergency unlocking is available, likely to allow free egress during emergencies.

Working Principles with Card Reader System:

The Tourlock 120/22 integrates with a card reader system to authorize passage.

  • One Authorized User: An authorized user presents their card, the green signal lamp illuminates, and the doorset rotates 120° to allow passage.
  • Authorized User (Secured Side) and Unauthorized User (Non-Secured Side): If an authorized user attempts to enter from the secured side while an unauthorized user is present on the non-secured side, the system will prevent passage or trigger an alarm, depending on the configuration.
  • Two Authorized Users (Secured and Non-Secured Side): If two authorized users attempt to pass simultaneously from opposite sides, the system manages the passage, typically allowing one at a time.
  • Two Successively Authorized Users (From One Side): The system can handle multiple successive authorizations from the same side, allowing up to three authorizations within a short period (max. 3x).

Important Technical Specifications

  • Rotation: The doorset rotates 120° in either an Anti-Clockwise (ACW) or Clockwise (CW) direction.
  • Passage Time: Passage is possible within 9 seconds after authorization.
  • Weight Sensor: The system includes a weight sensor with a maximum admissible weight of 110 kg. If the weight exceeds this limit, an alarm may be triggered, or passage may be prevented.
  • Power Supply: The system requires a power supply for operation. In case of no power supply, the doorset enters failsecure mode.
  • Acoustic Signal: The system provides an acoustic signal for various events, such as authorization or alarms.
  • Signal Lamps: Green and red signal lamps indicate the status of the system (e.g., authorized, unauthorized, locked).

Usage Features

Control Panel: The control panel provides visual feedback on the system's status and allows for various operational modes.

  • Signal Lamps:
    • Green Illuminates (after card reader use): Indicates successful authorization, allowing passage. The light remains on for 9 seconds, and the doorset rotates 120°.
    • Green Illuminates Continuously: Indicates that the system is in a mode allowing continuous passage or is ready for the next authorization.
    • Red Flashes: Indicates an issue, such as an unauthorized attempt, an obstruction, or a system error.
    • Red Illuminates Continuously: Indicates a locked state or a persistent error.
    • Green Flashes: May indicate a specific operational state or a warning.
  • Alarm/Buzzeralarm: The system can trigger an alarm (acoustic and/or visual) in response to security breaches or malfunctions, such as exceeding the weight limit (>110kg).
  • Reset: A reset function is available to clear alarms or restart the system.

Security Devices: The Tourlock 120/22 incorporates several security devices to ensure safe and secure operation.

  • Contactmat: A contactmat likely detects the presence of a person within the revolving door compartment, contributing to single-person entry verification.
  • Hangsensor*: This sensor might detect if a person is attempting to "hang" or linger within the door, preventing piggybacking.
  • Weightsensor*: As mentioned, this sensor detects the weight of the person(s) inside the compartment, ensuring only one person (within the weight limit) passes at a time.
  • Safety Rail Bent Wall (SRB): This feature likely refers to a safety mechanism integrated into the design of the revolving door's walls, possibly to prevent entrapment or injury.
  • Failsecure*: In the event of a power failure, the door defaults to a locked state, preventing unauthorized entry.
  • Failsecure + Emergency Unlocking*: This option combines the failsecure mechanism with an emergency unlocking feature, allowing the door to be opened manually for emergency egress even during a power outage.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of the Tourlock 120/22.

  • Caution/Warning:
    • Do not use water near the drive units and control boxes.
    • Always switch OFF the power supply of the Tourlock 120/22 during maintenance or other work to prevent electrical hazards and damage to the system.
  • Weekly Maintenance:
    • Clean the anodized, stove-enameled, and/or stainless steel surfaces with a wet cloth. This helps maintain the aesthetic appearance and prevents dirt buildup.
  • Monthly Maintenance:
    • Clean the anodized, stove-enameled, and/or stainless steel surfaces with a wet cloth and a non-aggressive soap. This provides a more thorough cleaning than the weekly routine.
    • Vacuum clean all the brushes. This is important for maintaining the effectiveness of the brushes in preventing drafts and keeping the compartment clean.
  • Yearly Maintenance:
    • The Tourlock 120/22 requires a major maintenance check once a year. This comprehensive check must be performed by Boon Edam or an approved agent. This includes inspecting all components, lubricating moving parts, checking electrical connections, and verifying the functionality of all security devices. This annual service is also applicable for repairs.

Daily Checks: It is recommended to check the emergency and safety devices and the general function of the Tourlock 120/22 daily to ensure continuous safe and reliable operation.

For further information and detailed instructions, users are advised to consult the operating manual.
