3 Unpacking the Engine Stand
The engine stand is completely assembled upon
delivery and is delivered in a wooden box.
1. Remove the wooden box from the engine stand.
2. Move the engine stand away from the wooden box
(see Figure 1).
CAUTION
Crushing Hazard!
Lifting or lowering the engine stand carelessly
cold cause body parts to be crushed.
Keep body parts out of the danger zone when
lifting or lowering the engine stand.
Ensure that no one is in the danger zone when
lifting or lowering the engine stand.
Lift and lower the engine stand only from the
frame.
3. Move the engine stand to its specified place.
4. Secure the engine stand from rolling by locking the
brakes on the castor wheels.
4 Operating Instructions
1. Inspect the engine stand and accessories for
visible damage before each use. Do not use the
engine stand or accessories if damaged or in poor
condition.
2. Ensure that the engine stand is secured from
rolling by locking the brakes on the castors wheels.
3. Use a lifting device expressly approved by Ford to
position the vehicle part on the engine stand.
Remove the lifting device only after the vehicle part
has been secured to the engine stand.
4. Slide the vehicle part on the engine stand's
universal spindle, using the corresponding
accessories if necessary (see the Ford workshop
manual and Figure 1).
WARNING
Danger of Tipping Over!
The engine stand could tip over if the load is not
positioned on it correctly. This could cause
serious personal injury or severe damage to
materials.
Ensure that the vehicle part does not protrude
beyond the engine stand's frame.
5. Secure the vehicle part to the universal spindle
with the locking pin in the keyway.
The engine stand is equipped with a spindle that
has a keyway screwed into it. The keyway ensures
that various accessories can be securely attached
to the engine stand.
6. Remove the locking pin from the hand wheel.
CAUTION
Danger of Leaking Oil and Loose
Cables!
Rotation movements can cause oil to leak, which
can result in slipping hazards. Cables can also
hang loosely. People can get caught in these
cables and hurt themselves or damage the cables.
Keep binding agents, rags, etc. ready to
remove any leaked oil.
Remove loose cables or secure them with
cable ties, lashing straps, or something
similar.
