Starting band scan
uPress the or button ⑥. “BANDS-
CAN” appears briefly in the display ④.
The radio searches for stations in the
current waveband. Each station that is
discovered is played for approximately
5 seconds. The tuned frequency or the
station name is displayed during this time.
Cancelling band scan
uPress the or button ⑥.
Scanning stops. The radio stays tuned to the
station that was played last.
Programme type
(PTY, only DAF RADIO LUXURY)
Besides transmitting the station name, some
FM stations also provide information about the
type of programme they are broadcasting. The
programme types can be, for instance:
CULTURE TRAVEL JAZZ SPORT
NEWS POP ROCK MUSIC
You can use the PTY function to select stations
of a particular programme type.
If PTY is activated and PTY seek tuning has
been started, the radio switches automati-
cally from the current station or from another
operating mode to a station of the selected
programme type.
Activating/deactivating PTY
uFirst switch to FM radio mode, if neces-
sary.
uPress the MENU button ⑤ to open the
menu.
uPress the MENU button ⑤ repeatedly
until “PTY” appears in the display ④.
uTurn the volume control ① anticlockwise
or clockwise to select the “PTY ON” or
“PTY OFF” setting.
uPress the MENU button ⑤ (if necessary,
several times) to close the menu.
Selecting a programme type
Note:
“PTY” must be activated.
uFirst switch to FM radio mode, if neces-
sary.
uPress the MENU button ⑤ to open the
menu.
uPress the MENU button ⑤ repeatedly
until “PTYTYPE” appears in the display ④.
uTurn the volume control ① to select a
programme type.
Press the MENU button ⑤ (if necessary,
several times) to close the menu.
Starting PTY seek tuning
Note:
PTY seek tuning is only available if
“PTY” is activated and the “AUTO-
SEEK” or “BANDSCAN” setting is
selected for the / keys ⑥ in the
“KEY PRG” menu (please refer to the
section entitled “Button function
programming” in this chapter).
uPress the or button ⑥ to start seek
tuning.
