Do you have a question about the Bosch DWJ91LT60 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document describes an extractor hood designed for use in private households to extract cooking vapor. It is suitable for enclosed domestic environments and can be operated up to an altitude of 4000 meters above sea level. The appliance is network-capable, allowing control via the Home Connect app on a mobile device, which enables users to adjust basic settings and monitor its operating status.

Function Description

The extractor hood operates in air recirculation mode. In this mode, drawn-in air is cleaned by grease filters and an odor filter before being returned to the room. For effective odor binding in recirculation mode, an odor filter must be installed. Various options for operating the appliance in air circulation mode are available, and necessary accessories can be obtained from specialist retailers, after-sales service, or the online shop.

The appliance features multiple fan settings, including an intensive mode for particularly strong odors or vapors. After approximately 6 minutes, the intensive mode automatically switches back to a lower fan setting. An automatic mode is also available, where a sensor detects the intensity of cooking and roasting odors and adjusts the fan setting accordingly. The sensor sensitivity can be customized via the Home Connect app. The lighting can be switched on or off independently of the ventilation system, and its brightness can be adjusted.

A saturation indicator alerts users when grease filters or odor filters are saturated, with corresponding symbols flashing after the appliance is switched off. This indicator can be configured in the Home Connect app based on the type of filter used.

Usage Features

The control panel, available in two variants, allows users to configure all functions and view the operating status. Key functions include switching the appliance on/off, controlling the lighting and its brightness, resetting the filter saturation indicator, and selecting a "favorites" function. Two favorites functions can be specified via the Home Connect app and then activated directly from the appliance.

The appliance can be connected to a Home Connect-compatible hob, enabling control of the extractor hood's functions directly from the hob. This hob-based hood control requires both appliances to be connected via the Home Connect app.

Additional features accessible through the Home Connect app include an automatic sensor system that activates and adjusts fan performance, decorative LED lighting with a range of atmospheric colors independent of ventilation, and a personal performance profile (noise-optimized or performance-optimized). The app also allows for fan run-on, which removes remaining odors and dries the odor filter after cooking, and interval ventilation for regular kitchen air exchange. Voice control via platforms like Amazon Alexa is also supported.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the appliance's long-term efficiency. Grease filters should be cleaned regularly to maintain a high level of grease removal, ideally every two months. They can be cleaned manually by soaking in hot soapy water or special grease solvent, or in a dishwasher at a temperature of no more than 70 °C. Odor filters, which cannot be cleaned or regenerated, should be replaced every 12 months with normal use.

The appliance's surfaces should be cleaned according to specific instructions to prevent damage. Stainless steel surfaces should be cleaned in the direction of the finish with a sponge cloth and hot soapy water. Painted surfaces, aluminum, plastic, and glass should be cleaned with a damp sponge cloth and appropriate cleaners. Harsh, abrasive, or high-alcohol content detergents, as well as hard scouring pads, should be avoided.

Before cleaning, the appliance must be disconnected from the power supply by unplugging it or switching off the fuse. Steam or high-pressure cleaners should not be used. The appliance should be allowed to cool down before cleaning to prevent burns. The interior components, which may have sharp edges, should be cleaned carefully, preferably with protective gloves.

Software updates for the appliance can be performed via the Home Connect app, providing optimizations, troubleshooting, and security updates. These updates consist of a download phase, during which the appliance can still be used, and an installation phase, during which the appliance cannot be operated.
