Working safely with this machine
is possible only when the operat-
ing and safety information are
read completely and the instruc-
tions contained therein are
strictly followed. In addition, the
general safety instructions in the
enclosed booklet must be fol-
lowed. Before using for the first
time, ask for a practical demon-
stration.
If the cable is damaged or cut
through while working, do not touch
the cable but immediately pull the
mains plug. Never use the machine
with a damaged cable.
Wear protective glasses, hearing
protection and a dust protection
mask.
Wear protective gloves and sturdy
shoes.
When necessary, also wear an
apron.
■ For long hair, wear hair protection. Work only
with close-fitting clothes.
■ The machine must be operated only with the
associated protective devices.
■ Always use the riving knife 21.
■ The swinging protection guard 13 must be free
to move; it must not become jammed in the
open position.
■ For stationary use, the machine may be oper-
ated only on a sawing table with restarting pro-
tection.
■ Always direct the cable to the rear away from
the machine.
■ Connect machines that are used in the open
via a fault current (FI) circuit breaker with a trig-
gering current of 30 mA maximum. Use only
extension cables that are intended for outdoor
use.
■ Insert the mains plug only when the machine is
switched off.
■ Clamp the workpiece in case it does not remain
stationary from its own weight.
■ Do not leave the tool key inserted.
■ When working with the machine, always hold it
firmly with both hands and provide for a secure
stance.
■ Apply the machine to the workpiece only when
switched on.
■ When working, always guide the machine
away from the body.
■ The cutting path must be free of obstacles both
above and blow.
■ The saw blade should not protrude more
than 3 mm out of the work piece.
■ Keep hands clear of the rotating saw blade. Do
not come into contact with the rotating saw
blade on the underside of the workpiece.
■ Do not stick fingers into the sawdust ejector 16.
■ Do not work overhead with the machine.
■ Do not saw into nails, screws, etc.
■ The dust that is produced while working is det-
rimental to health. Use dust extraction and
wear a dust mask.
■ Do not work with materials containing asbes-
tos.
■ Protect saw blades against shocks and im-
pacts.
■ Do not tilt the saw blade.
■ If the saw blade jams, switch off the machine
immediately.
■ The spindle locking button 1 may be actuated
only when the saw blade is at a standstill.
■ After switching off, do not brake the saw blade
to a stop by applying side pressure.
■ Always switch off the machine and allow to
come to a stop before putting down.
■ Use only sharp, flawless saw blades. Replace
immediately cracked, bent or dull saw blades.
■ Saw blades of highly alloyed, high speed steel
must not be used.
■ The saw blade and riving knife must not be-
come stuck in the cut. The saw tooth offset
must be wider and the main body of the saw
blade thinner than the thickness of the riving
knife.
■ Before each use of the machine, check the ca-
ble and plug. If damage is detected, do not use
the machine. Have repairs performed only by a
qualified technician. Never open the machine
yourself.
■ Bosch can assure flawless functioning of the
machine only when original accessories are
used.
