4. Battery test
A battery test with a Bosch battery tester should
be performed to assess the battery condition
each time before a battery is charged.
5. Connection
1.Set the voltage and charging current se-
lector switch (4) to „0“ (off). Also refer to
„1. Important safety instructions“!
2.Connect the rapid charger to the mains
supply.
3.Connect the battery with the correct pola-
rity (red clip to positive terminal, blue clip to
negative terminal)
On SL 2470 C only:
Charging is prevented if the connection is
made with reverse polarity; the red indica-
tor lamp (2) then lights up.
6. Charging, jump starting
1.Set the voltage and charging current se-
lector switch (4) to the nominal voltage of
the battery and to the corresponding sym-
bol. Do not switch on the time switch for
normal charging (see 9.1)
2.Charging now starts.
3.Set the time switch (5) for boost charging.
Boost charging of the battery should not
take place for longer than 2 hours. The
normal charging time should not exceed 6
hours (see 9.2).
4.After the charging time has elapsed, switch
off the unit and then disconnect the battery
(see „1. Important safety instructions“).
5.Jump starting
Pay attention to ,“1. Important safety in-
structions“.
With SL 2450 C:
Set combined switch (4) to truck symbol
after setting the correct voltage. Switch on
time switch. Start vehicle.
With SL 2470 C:
Switch over from boost charging to jump
starting by pressing the pushbutton (9).
Starting time max. 10 seconds.
