Using
tne
tape
monitor
circuit
has
two
advan*
tages:
when
usirtg
conventional
loudspeakers
or
head¬
phones,
the
tape
monitor
circuit
allows
disconnecnon
of
the
Active
Equalizer
by
turning
oft
the
tape
monitor
switch
on
your
control
amplifier;
this
Is
important
because
conven¬
tional
speakers
ano
headphones
should
r>oi
be
used
with
the
Active
Equalizer
(See
SECTION
IV.)
Also,
optimum
system
noise
performance
is
obtained
when
connacimg
the
equalizer
in
tlie
tape
mpnitor
circuitry.
When
using
this
procedure,
you
should
realize
that
the
90i
equalizer
is
being
connected
to
your
equipment
as
it
it
were
a
rape
recorder,
using
the
tape
monitor
connect^s
of
your
control
amplifier.
NOTE:
Check
your
control
equipment
to
determine
If
your
unit
has
any
additional
switching
flexibility.

equalizer
can
be
connected

terminals
allowing
greater
system
flexibility

equalizer
into
a
''switched*'

outlet
on
your
control
amplifier
so
that
the
equalizer
will

turned
on
or
off
with
the
power
switch
of
your
equipment.
If
the
preceding
steps
are
unctear,
it
may
be
due
to
the
dif¬
ferent
nomenclature
used
by
various
manufacturers
of
ampfifying
equipment.

control
amplifier’s

struction
manual

refer
to
the
section
describing
the
connection
of
a
tape
racorder.
Remember,
ihe
equalizer
is
connected
just
like
a
tape
recorder.
